Joy and I made awkward eye contactafter a night full of regrets
the salsa of the tongue
and the sharing of popcorn
when i lay my head down to rest
i sleep with the excitement that Joy will be laying besides me
when i roll over in sudden wakes of my sleep
We made love like a floating piece of paper trying to define gravity
in a world that has ripped us up into shreds
Baby if love is truly freedom
Why am I loving you with training wheels on my bike
i sleep with my eyes closed and my head bowed in her thighs
praying that God doesn't mistake my love for sin
-i pray a lot
