Zake's pov
Saturday came fast. Aly and Steff had been awake when Zake woke up that morning. He had packed his bags the night before.
"Good morning," Steff said as he walked into Aly's room. She sat on the floor dressing Aly in a white romper with pink butterflies on it. A pink bow was sewed to a thick shoulder strap and the other strap was a thin tank strap.
"Good morning my beautiful girls." He said bending to kiss Steff's cheek. She blushed and took his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Good morning, daddy!" Aly sang hugging him. "Can we get some ice cream before you have to leave? Please?"
"Yeah," Steff said smiling. "I think we can. Right?" She looked at Zake.
"Yeah." He smiled too. "I'd love that. I won't be able to have ice cream with you for a month."
"Yay!" Aly ran out of the room and down the hall.
He stood up and pulled Steff up with him. She smiled at him and it faded in an instant. "I'm gonna miss you." She said and hugged him.
"It's okay, babe." He held her tight. "I know that just Skyping isn't enough, but we will Skype every day. Okay?"
She nodded. "Okay."
At one in the afternoon, they all got into Steff's car and went to the park. Aly and Zake got their ice cream and they went to a picnic table. They sat and talked about what they will do this month while Zake is in Florida. Aly ran to play after she finished. Zake and Steff stayed at the table and kept talking.
"Maybe she should just stay with you this month." He said. "She has to go to school and it takes 30 minutes to get there from my mom's. And she doesn't wake up until noon."
"She's welcome to stay as long as she wants."
"I just don't want to be a burden." He shrugged.
"How many times do I have to tell you?" She took his hand. "You are not a burden. Just let her stay with me."
"Are you sure?" He squeezed her hand. "I can get a nanny."
"Stop it, Zake." She scooted closer to him. "She can stay at my place. I'm fine with it."
He sighed. "Okay."

Steff's pov
Zake kept saying he's a burden. She didn't know what to say. Finally, she told him to stop. They left the park at 2:30 and went straight to the airport. She parked in the parking lot and got out to help him with his bags. He opened the door behind the passenger seat where Aly sat.
"I'm gonna miss you." He said hugging her. "Also you get to stay with Steff instead of grams."
"Yay!" Aly hugged him. "I'm going to miss you too daddy."
He kissed her forehead and closed the door. Steff stood on her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around his neck. He hugged her and kissed her head. "I'm going to miss you." He whispered.
"I'm going to miss you too." She said and placed her feet flat on the ground. he walked past her to get his bags. She took his arm and tiptoed again. She hit his lips with hers. "I love you Zake." She whispered to him.
"I love you too." He kissed her back gently. "I'll skype you when I get there. And maybe while I'm on the plane. text me in the morning and I'll call you."
"Okay." She hugged him one last time. "Now go, or you'll miss your plane."
"Okay. Bye." He waved at Aly and Steff then went into the building. A woman came up to her with a big smile.
"You have a beautiful family." She said motioning to Aly and to the doors that Zake just went through.
She hesitated then just said, "Thank you." The woman nodded and went on her way. Steff got back into her car and turned to Aly. "Should we go to the movies?"
"Yeah!" Aly bounced in her car seat and Clapped her hands.
"Okay. Then I have to go shopping." she drove to the theater and parked as close as she could. They got out and went into the building. She got two tickets to a children's movie and ordered popcorn. She got a pack of skittles, Mike and Ike's, and water. They went into the room that played their movie and found their seat.

After the movie ended they went to the mall just down the street and went toJCPenny to the women's clothing section. She looked for a dress that Zake would like. She found a red knee length lace pleated dress and red stilettos. She tried them on while Aly sat on a bench. the dress was perfect but the shoes didn't feel right. she put the shoes back and took Aly to the children's section.
Aly picked out a red and black plaid romper. "It's like your skirt." She said. they went to check out when Aly saw a pair of converses just like Steff's that were just her size.
Finally, they went home and got ready for bed. Aly went to her room and Steff went downstairs to make sure Scott locked up. He took over for the day so Steff could "distract" Aly. She went back up and found Aly on the couch with the TV on. She turned it off and they both went to Aly's room. Steff tucked her in and went to her own room.

Zake's pov
He had texted Steff at 6 saying he'd landed and waited for a reply. At 10:00 p.m. Steff finally texted him saying:
Steff: Hey baby. Sorry for not texting back Aly and I had a girl's day out. How was your flight?
Zake: Girl's day, huh? Sounds fun. The flight was good. I slept the whole time.
Steff: That's good. I miss you already.
Zake: I miss you too. Is Aly still Awake?
S: No. She's out cold. She is really tired. She misses you too. she kept saying, "When daddy comes home..."
Z: Really? I didn't think she'd miss me at all. She loves you so much that she hardly notices me anymore.
S: Are you kidding me. She loves you so much. Whenever I'm alone with her she won't stop talking about you. she adores you.
Z: Really? She talks about me?
S: Yeah. She told me how you took her to the beach after your wife...you know.
Z: She remembers that?
S: Why do you think so little of yourself?
Z: I don't.
S: Ya kinda do.
Z: No.
S: Are you arguing with me?
Z: No. Sorry.
He laughed at himself. He looked at the clock and sighed. It was already 11:00. He smiled.
Z: It's really late.
S: Yeah but I don't want to stop just yet. Do you have to work tomorrow?
Z: No. I start on Monday. And I don't want to go to sleep just yet either.
