Chapter 6 - Growing up

Avi's POV

I didn't sleep well. I feel so bad for not showing up earlier. Kate's sister probably hates me and I don't blame her. For few hours I think about the baby. I knew I someday will have kids. Not this soon and I would prefer live with their mother before I have children, but life wants it like this.

Finally I fall asleep...

"You seriously could wake up, I would like to watch some TV!" Someone really annoyed tells me as they're taking off my blanket.

I open my eyes. Of course it's Lily.
"Good morning would be nice!" I sarcastically say and sit up. I rub my eyes and make a spot for Lily.

She pushes off my blanket and jumps in the clear spot like an angry child.

"I'm sorry... for not showing up earlier.  I won't leave this child." I said to Lily. Kate forgave me, we're similar souls. She understood me fast. But her sister... Is a different story.

"You think I'm mad because you came just now!?" Lily looks at me furious.

"I wouldn't care less if you wouldn't show up at all! I'm angry, because Kate was the smart one! She always thinks ahead and would never do things that lead to this! you slept with her and now she's with child! She wanted career and now she will be stay at home mom! And why!? Because she met you! You're the first person that made her feel safe and not think ahead and now she's... Here..."

Lily looks sad. She is full of regret. She knows she's not that mad at me, she's also mad at herself. But I feel awful. I will make it right.

Dressed up I go into the kitchen and look around.  I could cook for them. It's the least I could do right now.

I make them some bacon and eggs with French toast. And make some green tea. Kate, still sleepy, walks in the kitchen. She looks cute.

I notice something different. Her stomach looks bigger. Not really much, but you can notice the difference.

"K-hum, good morning!" I clear my throat and look at her belly. She turns bright red.

"I made breakfast. Are you hungry?" I smile. She nods and sits down. She puts full plate of food and digs in.

"It's so tasty!" She smiles. Lily walks in.

"Want some?" I ask as I sit down.

"No!" She answers sharply and walks out. Kate doesn't like that.

"I hoped she calmed down..." She looks at her plate, "I'm sorry, I eat like an elephant!" Kate sounds surprised by herself.

"I don't know what happened!" She laughs.

"Maybe that's because the baby's finally growing?" I casually ask. She stops and looks at her stomach. She stands up and her face lights up.

"Avi! Baby's growing! My little miracle is growing!" She is full of happiness.  Kate jumps in my lap and kisses me.

"Your kisses are magical!" She laughs. And again turns red. She stands up as fast as she sat in my lap.

She's  embarrassed, she sits back down in her place and continuous eating.

"What's wrong with me?" She mumbles under her breath, "Baby hormones." she tells herself  and laugh lightly.

"It's okay. I don't mind at all." I grin and start eating.

After the breakfast we clean up and go get change. We have an important conversation to get trough.

Lily's POV

It's all my fault. If only I would have been more responsible big sister, Kate wouldn't be in this situation. I've ruined her life! I'm stupid!  And Avi's just annoys me. He's the one I can blame. Also I'm scared he will steal my sister from me. I can't let him.

He needs to leave.

Kate's POV

I can't believe I kissed him! I'm seriously weird. But also the baby has started growing. I feel so much better now.

But we have some things we need to discuss. 

I put one of my grey sweatpants  (I have a collection, as a writer I'm proud of it) and a light blue sweatshirt (also from the collection). This will be a long talk so I put on some fuzzy socks.

When I walk downstairs my sister's in living room setting down a plate with tea and cookies.

Avi walks in and smiles to me. We all get comfortable around coffee table. I sit on the couch, Avi in the arm chair and Lily sits on the ground.

"Soo... Where do we start?" I put my hands together and wipe off the sweat. I don't like this tension.

"I think whatever we discuss here, you have the end saying as the mother of the child." Lily smiles.

I look at her then at Avi. He nods.

"Alright. I thought a lot about our situation. I don't know what to think. Avi lives in USA we live here... The kid will definitely live with me. But I also want Avi to be part of our life... And I have no idea. Suggestions?" I take a cookie look down and slowly eat it.

"Well, Avi can come whenever he can. Maybe send money of the child?" Lily mentions. Avi clearly doesn't like the idea.

"I want to be more that that..." Avi frowns, damn, even his frowns are attractive. 

"But you don't even care for Kate. Yes, she caries your kid, but you don't care where is she!? I care about both of them! They will stay here!" Lily starts raising her voice. I feel tears rolling down my eyes.

"That's not true. I care for her!" Avi argues.

"No! If you would care, you would have told her something! But you both are silent!" Lily is angry. 

I start to sob. She's right. I'm so delusional. He sees me as a friend.  I'm the dumb girl who falls in love with everyone.

"That's not true! You don't know anything! We talk about stuff so deep, I have never talked about with anyone, but her!" Avi starts to get annoyed.

"Then you would have told her something!" Lily yells. They are yelling at each other, but I don't hear them anymore. This baby has made me very emotional.  Baby is not happy either and I jump up and rush to my room. I don't even look if they follow me. I lock myself in and cry, cry till I feel like I'm floating in darkness. I hug the baby and try to fall asleep to knocks at my door.

Avi's POV

"Kate!" Lily jumps up and I follow behind her. We almost get to her, but locks herself in her room.

"Kate, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to yell!" Lily knocks on the door. We can hear her sobbing.

"It's your fault!" Lily hisses at me.

"Mine!? You really want me out of here don't you?" Now I'm really angry.

She looks at me like she could strangle me and runs somewhere.

"Oh, grow up!" I tell her as she disappears like an angry child in a room, shutting the door behind her. I don't know if Kate's mad at me, but I know how to pick keys. Sometimes high school teaches a lot of stuff.

I carefully unlock the door. My heart breaks. Kate is asleep on her bed, crawled into a ball, hugging her belly.

"I'm so sorry, Kate..." I whisper and cover her with blanket. I kiss her belly.

"I should have told you how I feel... I was just afraid. You were the first girl that made me feel so.. free. And happy and carefree. I didn't want to blow it. I was scared and I wanted to be sure I don't hurt you... I am starting to fall for you, even though I've met you just twice..."  I sit beside her bed and stroke her hair.
