Something happens today. Something happens today that wakes me up.
“Hey,” Sunny says to me after saying goodbye to the flirtatious cashier in Wal-Mart.
“Hi,” I murmur, still distraught with the thought of him talking to a girl like that.
A girl like that. Not me. Not weird and depressed and disoriented, but a girl with normal parents, lots of friends, and looks to tie it all up in a cute little bow.
“Hey, Gin, let's go get some...gin?” He raises his eyebrows in a weird flirty way, but it's so awkward I can't really figure out what he's doing.
“Are you...okay?”
“Yeah,” he says. “Why?”
“Your eyebrows are twitching.”
