A/N
Yeah yeah, I know no one is reading this book cause no one cares about Dragonvale and my friends are the only ones who read 'em. So... I won't reply to the comments (only if I want to), any discouraging messages WILL be deleted after this chapter. Thank you for reading this.In the morning, Isabella was just barely waking up. She yawned and rubbed her eyelids as she sat up on the bags. She then perks up with a sudden movement because she heard the plant dragon shout. She quickly puts on her boots and grabs her hat and runs outside quickly. She stops to see that the plant dragon wasn't in any danger so she signs. She turns to head back when the dragon shouted once more. She snapped her head in the dragon's direction to see a small, round red dragon trotting around the habitat. It seemed quite curious at the habitat for, it was going around examining the small place. The plant dragon seemed pretty discomfortable with it's unwelcomed visitor. Isabella came up silently behind the dragon but then was shocked to see it turn around. Before Isabella knew it, the dragon flew over her and near the fire habitat. She stopped and thought,
'If I can get this little guy into the habitat, I could get some cash outta him for trespassing.'
Isabella chuckled at her plan and started to slowly walk towards the dragon. The dragon didn't seem interested in her at all, more likely at the fire habitat. Isabella used this to her advantage and steathly grabbed the dragon and shoved them into the habitat. The dragon first went right at her, causing Isabella to dodge for cover. She quickly jumped up at the hot, heated coals as they almost touched her knees. She turned to see the fire dragon flying at her and before she could react, she got hit by the dragon's fire breath. Isabella's face was burnt but the soot was easy to wipe off, after all, it was a baby dragon's breath. She made her leave when she saw the dragon take in air, ready to throw another flame at her. Isabella looked as the dragon kept hitting it's head on the magic barrier, that was made by the red crystals at the edges of the habitat. The dragon kept trying to get Isabella but no avail. In fact the dragon just lost interest in her, for she did just stand around, watching them. Isabella just looked at the plant dragon and saw that they too, were looking at the fire dragon. Isabella held out her hand to the plant dragon, and they flew down off their tree and onto the ground, in front of Isabella. Isabella slowly placed her arms around the green dragon as she felt their leaf like scales. Their wings were like soft, light leaves that Isabella knew, the dragon took great care on keeping them clean. She held the dragon and let them go once, they were out of the habitat. The plant dragon never immediately ran free, they took small steps and looked back at Isabella each time. It was as if they were making a decision, that took time for them to make. Isabella looked over the island's rocks to see the emptiness that filled the sky. She couldn't understand why she was feeling sad about keeping the plant dragon, but now she does. She turned her head towards the plant dragon and said,
"There is a whole world, waiting for you to be there.... find it."
The plant dragon looked back at her, as if, wanting to say something but couldn't. Isabella signs. The plant dragon flew towards her and landed on her shoulder. Isabella was surprised by their action and lost balance for a bit, but she knew the dragon had made a decision. Isabella told the dragon,
"You need a name. I don't want to be calling you dragon."
The plant dragon cocked it's head to the right. Isabella took a deep breath and started calling out names."Fern? No? Okay..."
"What about Grass? Not that either?"
"How about Bonsai? Not your taste?"
"Vine? Wow, you seem to hate that."
"Hm.... Moss? No? Too scary? Okay..."
"Let's see.... Oh! What about Sapling?"
Isabella smiled as the plant dragon thought about it. They nodded their head at the name."Okay, it's offically settled. C'mon Sapling!" Isabella cried as the plant dragon followed. Isabella told Sapling to search through the island's grounds for any seeds they can find. Sapling noddee it's head and flew over the trees, bushes, and rocks that covered most of the terrain. Isabella then walks towards the farm soil and tilled it. She was just about done when Sapling returns with a couple of seeds in it's mouth. Isabella pats it's head as Sapling drops the seeds to her hand below it's jaw. Isabella held the seeds carefully, as to not drop a single one, and drops them into three finger sized holes in the soil. Sapling watches intently, as if learning how to grow it's own food. Isabella covers the seeds in the soft, tilled soil and trys to gather the moisture below the ground to water the seeds. Isabella stares at the dirt with hopes that the seeds will grow to feed them. Sapling stares at the soil but looks at Isabella's expression as she was deep in thought. Isabella soon signs in desperation.
'It's hopeless. The Dragon Snaps aren't gonna grow in this condition. Wait... the seeds do look like Dragon Snaps, but are they really it?'
Sapling looks at Isabella's face, seeing the sadness in her eyes. As much as they wanted to help, they don't know how to. Isabella looks at Sapling and rubs it's head comfortly.
"We'll get it right next time." Isabella spoke as she stood up from the ground. Sapling followed with concern but doesn't interfere with Isabella's actions. Isabella walked towards the plant habitat and lifts Sapling through the barrier that prevented any unwanted dragons from entering. Isabella then wishes Sapling a good night and walks towards the farm house. She opens the door, staring at the habitats, then shuts it quietly. She gets into "bed" and falls fast asleep. Sapling watches from it's tree and notices a pink light glowing from the bush. They fly down and finds a shard of some sort and brings it to their nest ,they had created in the tree. Sapling hides the shard underneath it's nest floor, to not disturb it's own slumber.
