"We need to start moving." I say.
"Agreed," she replies "we know that that pane is cursed, how about this one?" She gestures her hand to the pane of glass in the dollhouse that appears to be near the TV. I look across to the red light. It glares at me still. I don't feel any temptation to move. Maybe we could just wait it out here?
"She'll find you." Ivy reads my mind. "Sorry. I should have told you. I promise I won't hook into your brain without your permission next time." She says with a slight giggle.
"You can read minds?" I ask.
"I can do a lot of things that most people can't. The only brain in this world I can't hook into is the lady's."
"What's her name?"
"I'm not sure, but I don't think she'd give you the time to think of one. All I know is that she sleeps in the cupboard
and somebody appears up in that room. When she wakes, a song plays. Like an old nursery rhyme, but dark. She can't see me, at least I don't think she can. If she hears you, she'll wake, she'll come, and she'll hunt. She'll hunt until she finds you. And then that happens." She gesture to the girl out the window.
"Only two have ever escaped this place. I try my best to help, but it's truely not easy. The maze is extremely complicated, and she changes it every time she catches someone so that no one can form a pattern."
"If only two have escaped, where are the other bodies?" I ask, uncertain If I want to know the answer.
"See that hole?"
I nod.
"It's a mass grave. A total of around 47 now... I think."
The hole seems tiny. I feels scared to look anymore at it, like I might be sealing my fate.
