Chapter 21

Right now, I'm alone in Kendall's and my room because he and the boys, except Rick, are out at the pool. I like swimming, but I'm not much of a big fan of swimming all day long. Plus, we just got here I'm planning of a day of resting and laziness, rather than actually walking around the large hotel and exploring like we're going to the Sea of Monsters with Percy Jackson. Speaking of Percy Jackson, my way of staying lazy for the day is by laying down on the bed and watching Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief again, followed by the Sea of Monsters.

I'm a huge Percy Jackson fan, that I've already planned out on which god I'd want my parent to be. And I've chosen Apollo, god of the sun and music. I personally love the sun, but I actually have no idea why. Probably the science of it just attracts me. And music is basically my life. So put it together, and I've got Apollo. As I walk over to my bed to lay down, the movie starts playing with Poseidon walking out of the water, passing by an old man who's fishing. I'm a big fan of the two films, but it sucks how they're inaccurate to the book. But it's still enjoyable. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I ask, keeping my eyes on the TV.

"It's Rick," his voice replies.

I step off the bed and open the door.

"What's up?" I ask, leaning against the door. "Whatever you wanna talk about, make it quick. I'm with a really hot boy."

His eyes widen, "You're cheating on Kendall?"

"Um no. I'm talking about fetus Logan Lerman," I reply.

"Fetus who?"

"Don't tell me you don't know Logan Lerman,"

Rick just blinks at me, not knowing what to say. Wow. How can he not know who Logan is?! He's Percy Jackson! d'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers! Charlie Kelmeckies in Perks of Being a Wallflower! Where has he been living, under a rock?!

"You're dead to me," I say, just above a whisper.

I instantly close the door, leaving him dunbfounded. Quickly, I lay back down on the bed and watch the movie. Thanks to Rick, I've skipped a few parts, and now I'm at the part where Percy is answering Mr. Brunner's question on naming an example of a demigod. Hm...I'd like to be a demigod. Be the daughter of Apollo. If I were, would I be able to control fire because of the sun? And would I actually be able to sing like an angel? Because that would be totally awesome and-

My thoughts are cut off by Mrs. Dodds flying over to Percy as a Fury. Well that's not the only thing that has interrupted me. There's another knock on the door. Groaning, I walk over to the door and see Rick again.

"Isn't he that Prissy Johnson kid?" he asks.

"You're just like Clarisse on the book," I say as I roll my eyes.

"Who?"

I'm about to close the door when he stops me by using his right foot.

"What do you want?" I ask, frustrated that I'm missing the movie.

"Can I watch the movie with you? I'm bored,"

"Fine. But no questions and making fun of my husband,"

"You have a husband?"

"Do you have any idea what it's like to be in a fanbase?"

"What's a fanbase?"

"HOLY SHIT!" I exclaim.

"Woah. Language,"

I groan in furstration again and stomp over to my luggage bag. Once I find what I'm looking for, I stomp back towards Rick and give him the object: the book entitled: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

"Here. Read it and shut up," I say and walk back over to the bed.

He sits down on a couch chair and starts reading the book. I continue to watch the movie, hearing a few laughs from Rick as he reads the book. Every once in a while, I glance at Rick just to see his facial expressions on the book. It's usually a smile, so I know he's enjoying. That's good. Now there's no chance of him makig fun of the story and Logan.

Well here's one thing I've found out about Rick. For a DJ, he's a fast reader. And he judges way too much.

"Look at the freak! Logan is nothing I imagined how Percy would look like! I'd expect him to look waaaaaay better. And this is so inaccurate! Clarisse is suppose to be in the movie. Where the hell is she? Grover, oh come on! You're not suppose to know Percy's mom as much! Where's Emily?!" those are all the complaints Rick has made during the movie.

Then that's when I just explode.

"SHUT UP, RICK! JUST. SHUT. UP! ONE MORE COMPLAINT AND YOU'RE OUT OF THIS ROOM AND THE TOUR!" I burst.

"What? It's true though. Clarisse and Emily aren't in the movie. And-and Ms. Dodds is suppose to be a Pre-Algebra teacher, not a substitute English teacher. And she's suppose to get killed, not leave the museum. And-"

"Get out,"

He groans, "Fine."

Once the DJ leaves, I walk back to the bed and change the movie to the Sea of Mosnters, the second book of the series. I smile, knowing the fact that there's no one to interrupt me now. Suddenly, there's another knock on the door. Spoke too soon. I walk over to the door, getting ready to scream.

"RICK, JUST LEAVE ME ALONE, ALRIGHT- wait you're not Rick," I've mistaken Kendall for Rick.

"Uh...yeah, last time I checked," Kendall jokes as he walks inside the room. "Percy huh? Well this story is much better than 50 Shades of Grey, that's for sure."

Once again, the boys are out. And this time, literally out. They're not in the hotel, and Rick has also stayed behind. I'm still watching the Sea of Monsters. It's at the part where Percy is attempting to kill the Kronos. This is already the climax of the movie, so I know it's gonna end soon. And before I know it, Annabeth is dead for a few seconds and revived by the fleece. Then, Mr. D hands Clarisse the fleece as she places it over Thalia's tree. And then there she goes. Thalia's tree is back to normal, and the movie ends when they find out Thalia herself is actually revived.

The movie credits roll in as another knock on the door is heard. This is the fourth knock on the day! I swear, that sound hurts my ears now because I've heard it more than two times. I walk over to the door, not sure who to expect. Then there's Rick, standing in front of me again.

"I got you something," he smiles.

"What'd you get me?" I ask.

"It's in my room. Christmas is near, so might as well get you an early gift. You can open it now too,"

"When'd you get it?"

"Just now," he replies.

"And you wrapped it?"

"Yup!"

I walk out of my room, leaving the door open so I can come back out quickly and enter his to find a horribly wrapped gift. The present is obviously in a box, but the wrapping doesn't even have a name for its shape. Well what's expected as a gift from a DJ with craziness of judging a movie? He probably got me a shirt or something. I unwrap the present and find a brown box. I open the lid of the box and see a blue poster. Slowly, I lift up the poster to read what it says: In Demigods We Trust. No way! It's the Sea of Monsters poster! I've always wanted this!

"This is so cool! Thanks, Rick!" I exclaim as I hug him.

We slowly pull apart from the hug, but my hands are still on his back, as his are on mine. His eyes trail down from mine to my lips and back up to my eyes. Then he does the unexpected. He closes the space between us as kisses me. When suddenly...

"Val?!" I hear Kendall scream.
