I woke up to the sound of muffled voices outside my door. There  was now light in the room, so I guessed it was probably the morning. I pulled myself out of bed and went to the door. There were three voies; Nathan, Max and Lucia.

"What the hell happened to her? I thought she was physically fit," Max snapped.

"I don't know! I hadn't trained her to run that far!" Nathan exclaimed. "And what about Kaneswaran? He shouldn't be scaring her like that!"

"Keep KaneswaranFlesch out of this; they aren't anything to do with Alexis' fainting. You should have known she couldn't run that far; you're her S.O.," Lucia snapped.

"You've had it in for her since she came her, so shut up Lucia," Nathan growled. I stepped away from the door and took a deep breath. Nathan was sticking up for me. I went back over to the door and pushed it open. All of their heads snapped to me and Nathan and Max smiled at me. I smiled back and walked further into Nathan's office.

"Am I interrupting something?" I asked quietly, knowing full well that I was.

"No, don't worry, sweetie," Nathan said calmly. "Do you want something to eat?" I nodded, so he came over to me, put his arm over my shoulders and started walking out of the room. He stopped by the door and looked back at Lucia with a stern expression. "We aren't talking about this anymore; it isn't fair." Nathan started walking again and we made our way to the kitchen.

"Since when do you call Siva, Kaneswaran?" I asked Nathan as I sat down on one of the pale grey stools in the kitchen. He moved round to the other side of the granite counter between us and smiled at me.

"Since I found out you called him Seev," he chuckled.

I rolled my eyes. "And when was that?"

"Yesterday, when he phoned you," he replied, then turned to look around the rest of the small kitchen behind him. "What exactly do you want to eat?"

"Oh, okay," I smiled. "Um, I don't know; I was  hoping you'd surprise me."

"I was going to, but the only thing I can make in here is a sandwich," he laughed. I stood up and went to stand next to him. I looked around the kitchen and spotted the fridge, so went over to it, opened it and looked in. I pulled out a packet of bacon, two eggs and a tomato.

"Sandwich it is," I said, turning to him. He grinned at me, then grabbed the food from me.

"You cut the tomato up and I'll get the rest ready, okay?" I nodded and took the tomato. I put it on a board, pulled a knife out of the drawer and started slicing the tomato up, while he turned the grill and hob on to cook the bacon and eggs. "Nobody ever told me what happened to Sam," I said. Nathan took a sharp breath in, but refused to answer me. "Nathan, you can't keep a secret from me. If you don't tell me, I'll go down to the lab and find out myself."

I felt a pair of hands on my lower back and swivelled in them to face Nathan. "Look, KaneswaranFlesch are having a few... difficulties. Flesch has been thinking things, like she's being haunted, and Kaneswaran can't cope, so he locked her in the lab, but then things started happening. Strange things. Knives and equipment started moving, and smashing into the wall near to Kaneswaran, so he tried to leave, and is now locked down on the loading deck with Flesch. None of us can get in because there's a chair blocking the door. We feel that Flesch has developed telekinetic abilities, but can't control them." Nathan explained with a stern look on his face.

"Telekinetic abilities? I thought they were a myth," I queried, frowning.

"We don't have anyone on our database with telekinesis, but that doesn't mean that they aren't real. Alex, I want you to be paying close attention to Flesch for the next couple of days. We need to find out about her abilities," Max said, appearing over Nathan's shoulder. Nathan's hands quickly came off of my waist and he spun to face Max.
