I jumped off my bed and started pacing the room; it was terrible not being able to go on electronics. There was a knock on the door, so I went over to it. Max was stood there in a smart black suit. He grinned at me. "So, Nathan and I are trying to find out where Darren and the diamonds are, and where they're controlling Jay from."

I nodded at him. “Is that all?”

He shook his head. “No, I need you downstairs; there’s a meeting.”

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him with a confused expression. “I thought I wasn’t on the case any more.”

His expression changed and he smiled at me. “You aren’t, but as Nathan so rightly told me, you were his girlfriend, so you deserve to know what we’re doing,” he replied. “And we need you there so we can fill all of the seats. But that isn’t important.”

“You don’t need to do this,” I said slowly.

“Yes I do,” he interrupted. “I’m not going to listen to you, so just give up, Alexis.”

I sighed. “Fine; when’s the meeting?”

He grinned at me. “Now.”

I walked over to him and rolled my eyes; frustrated at his ridiculousness. “I’m only doing this because I’m basically your prisoner.”

He put his arm round my shoulders and made me walk out with him. “You are, but you secretly want to know what’s happening with your boyfriend.”

I cursed under my breath and gritted my teeth. “He isn’t my boyfriend. Boyfriends don’t leave their pregnant girlfriends in the middle of the night to kill someone.”

“Oh, alright; he’s your ex then,” he chuckled. I rolled my eyes. “Don’t worry, I know he isn’t your boyfriend. And so does Nathan…”

“What? Why are you mentioning Nath? He doesn’t have a thing to do with this,” I hissed.

“Of course he doesn’t,” he said sarcastically. I stopped and he pushed the door in front of us open. “Are you coming?” He stepped into the room and winked at me. “I know he doesn’t have anything to do with you and Jay, but he does have something to do with you, doesn’t he?”

I blushed and followed him in. “This isn’t over, Max,” I whispered.

“Oh yes it is,” he whispered back, looking over my shoulder. I turned to see what he was looking at; and was greeted by Nathan’s chest.

“You have to stop doing that!” I exclaimed, pushing him out of the way.

“It’s just so fun,” Nathan chuckled.

I rolled my eyes at him. “If you like: tinkerbell.”

“What did you call me?” He exclaimed.

I bit my lip and looked up at him. “Sorry, you’re a princess. If you like: Cinderella.”

“Oh stop flirting you two,” Max called. Nathan stuck his finger up at him; then pushed me over to a chair. I hit him across the chest, before sitting down. I smiled at Max, gesturing him to continue.

“Kaneswaran, have you made any more progress on finding out where Darren Ward is?” Max asked. I turned to Siva.

He shook his head. “No. I’m not a hacker; I can’t track people down. And it’s only been an hour, how do you expect me to work that quickly?”

“Am I going to have to get Alexis back in?” Max asked and looked at me.

“I think she’d be a lot of help,” Siva replied.
