Peetas pov
It had been about 5 minutes since Johanna and finnick left to go find Katniss. Mags and me were nearly talking. But I saw a strange smoke floating in the air. I reached out to touch it and my hand blistered. It stung so greatly.
"Mags run!" I shouted and took off. I let her ride on my back. We were running twords the beach but I tripped and cut my leg on a stone. We had made it far enough for that the fog would be upon us in a minute still.
"Mags I can't take you! But you can walk I'm sure you have time"
She placed a kiss on my forehead and placed it to her heart. She walked straight into the fog. The cannon went off. And at the same time just seconds after the cannon, lighting struck the tall tree a mile away.
It shook my body and I realized the fog approaching, so with tears and all I ran as fast as I could. The fog stung my back at times, as it consumed the air my body had just left.
I ran to the edge of the forest, and fell just so my body lay an inch from the vegitation, and on the sand.
I was going to die I thought. At least Katniss had somebody now. Nobody needed me.
The fog stopped at what seemed like an invisible barrier.
I looked towards the scene before me, it was still, except for in The distance, a figure leaped into the water, and two small figures which I assumed were Johanna and finnick, walked towards the cornucopia.
