We all know how Arsyn saved Gustav by stepping in front of him before Ryker striked. We all know he's planning to avenge her death. And we all saw a figure jump onto a Whispering Death's back from the flaming ship. Now, let's get a rewind and step a little closer into the picture.
Arsyn.
I open my eyes to see red streaks along the sides of the ship. How did I even get on the ship? I try to pull myself into a sitting position, but bump into an invisible wall. I rub my head to see I was encased inside a glass sarcophagus (is that how you spell it?).
Arsyn.
I turn my head to the side to see a black and white Whispering Death on the side of the ship. It couldn't possibly-
Arsyn! It said urgently. I had a small feeling that this 'Arsyn' was me. But why was it calling out to me?
That's when I realized something. Those red streaks on the ship weren't paint. The grey mist surrounding the area wasn't fog. The ship was on fire. And the grey mist was smoke.
I struggled to try to pry the coffin open, then just settled with just breaking the whole thing open with my fists.
Well it is glass. Luckily, I hadn't gotten seriously hurt from the shards.
I sprung up and ran towards the dragon, a stinging pain rising from my chest. I ignored it and continued running.
Once I reached the edge of the flaming boat, I did something I didn't think I had the guts to do.
I jumped off the boat and onto the Whispering Death's back. I grabbed onto the sides of it's neck as it took off into the unknown darkness.

What in Thor's name were you doing inside a coffin on a flaming ship?! The dragon, whose name I found out was Blackjack exclaimed. Seriously, I come over for a visit and see you unconscious and being put inside a coffin, as if you had died!! What is this, a sick joke?! A foolish dare that you took?! I was worried that you actually dead!!
"Um," I say, confused. "Actually, I don't know how I got there. I didn't even recognized you until you mentioned your name!"
Blackjack's voice softens once I say that, wait, are you serious? You don't remember ANYTHING? Not even your sister or boyfriend?
"No," I reply. "I have a boyfriend? Wow, I must've been an entirely different person."
Eh, you still seem a little similar to the Arsyn I know, Blackjack adds. You got her brave spunk.
"Thanks," I sigh. "By the way, what did you mean by 'you thought I was dead' earlier?"
Um, Blackjack mumbles, a pang of nervousness in his voice. Arsyn, a Viking funeral usually puts the coffin with the dead in a boat and shoot flaming arrows at it. Where you just came from, it had all of those things.
"But if it was a funeral, then shouldn't I be-"
Well that would explain why your chest is covered in blood.
"Ye-wait, what?!" I exclaimed then looked down at myself. Even in the dark, I could see the deep red liquid soaking up my shirt.
Now how did I miss that?
Only now you noticed? Blackjack asked. Or did you think it was sweat and ignored it?
"Only now," I admitted.
Ok, it take back what I said about you acting similar to the old Arsyn.
"Should we go back?"
Arsyn.....if you went back....I don't know HOW they'll react to seeing you alive. Going back won't be a really good idea.
"Then what are you suggesting?"
Honestly, maybe you shouldn't try to remember them. Remembering to love and fit in with others will take a long time and-
"So I should just forget them just like that?!" I exclaimed.
It's for the best Arsyn, plus maybe a fresh start is what you need.
I sighed. Maybe he was right, who knows what'll happen if they find out alive. Maybe they'll be angry and make sure I'm killed permanently. Besides, in my state, I won't know who to trust.
Oh well, if anything goes wrong I'll pin it on him.
Sup everyone, enjoying the fact that Arsyn's alive? XD I know, but she seems like the kind of person who would survive. In the next chapters, I'll be trying to do it in 3rd person POV.
Special thanks to XxPinkSkyxX2 for letting me use her idea from her book Don't Let Her Go:
"Besides, maybe we got lucky and that person got killed."
