Raising Aidria (Part 2)

THE NEXT DAY AT THE STUDIO
JENNA's POV
Brittany, Aidria, and I arrived at the studio for another bumper rehearsal with Artem and Alan. I set Aid up in the corner with her stuff again. After the bumper rehearsal was done it was around lunch time, so Brittany, Aidria, and I all headed to the kitchen where we found Alan, Keo, and Val. "My hungry" Aidria tells Brittany and I. "Okay, baby girl, we'll get you something to eat." I say checking the time. "How is it noon already?! I have to go to rehearsals!" I say. "Crap! Me too!" Brittany says also realizing the time. "Crap!" Aidria repeats. I glare at Brittany. "Sorry" Brittany says with a guilty face. "Aidria Noelle, don't repeat anything Aunt Brittany says, ever" "Otay, Mama." "We're gonna have to get something to eat later baby girl, Mama's got to go and so does Aunt Britt-Britt." I say to her. "I can watch her for you." A voice speaks up. When I see Val step forward I feel my heart skip a beat. "Are you sure?" I ask. "Yeah! I babysit my nephew Kai all the time, besides I don't have rehearsals till the pro rehearsals later, I really don't mind." He says, then he turns his attention to Aidria. "Aidria, do you want a sandwich?" He asks her. "Yah!" Aid says nodding her head causing her curls to bounce. "Okay" Val says, "What kind of sandwich do you want?" "Nutella!" Aidria says smiling and clapping her hands. Yupp, she's definitely Val's daughter. "Good choice" he says smiling down at her. "Okay, well I'll be in Studio B if you need me." I say, slightly more comfortable with leaving her with Val, but still a little unsure. "Okay" he says as he starts making Aid's sandwich. "Be good for Val" I say kissing Aidria's forehead. "Otay, Mama" she says as she climbs up on Val's lap watching him make her sandwich.
"Was leaving her with Val really a good idea?" I ask Brittany as we exit the kitchen. "Yes, don't worry, they'll be fine!" My best friend says giving me a reassuring smile. "Yeah, I guess you're right" I say as we go our separate ways to rehearse with our partners.
AFTER REHEARSALS
"Hey Jen" Brittany says as I walk in to pro rehearsals. "Hey Britt!" I say returning the greeting, "Have you heard anything from Val?" I ask her, looking around and seeing almost every dancer but Val. "No" she responds, "did you?" "No, I hope everything went okay..." I say slightly worried. "Why don't you just ask him yourself?" Brittany says looking over my shoulder. All of the sudden I hear tiny footsteps running up behind me. "Mama, Mama, Mama!" I spin around to see Aidria running towards me with Val chasing her closely behind. "Help Mama! The Tickle Monster is gonna get me!" Aidria says laughing. She tries to run and hide behind my legs but Val is too quick, he scoops her up in his arms and tickles her, causing Aid to giggle like mad. A feel a smile quickly spread across my face, I can't help but just stand and stare at them in awe. When I finally snap out of it, I look around and every one in the room was also transfixed on Val and Aid, he was so good with her. "Aid, were you good for Val?" "Yah, Mama!" She said, her curls bounced as she furiously nodded her head. "She didn't give you any trouble, did she?" I asked, turning my attention to Val. "No, not at all. Actually, You better keep an eye on her Jen cuz I just might try to steal her." He laughed then he turned more serious, "Really Jen, she's such a sweetheart, you're doing an amazing job raising her." Those words coming out of his mouth gave me the chills. I looked into his eyes and I could see that his words were genuine, which sent a tingling feeling down my spine. "Thank you, Val" I said giving him a warm smile. "Okay, let's get this rehearsal started" Mandy said walking into the room. I set Aid up in the corner with her coloring book and some crayons and we went on with rehearsals.
END OF REHEARSALS (JENNA's POV)
Mandy dismissed us and Brittany and I went and changed our clothes to go out to eat (while Hayley was amazing enough to watch Aid for a few minutes). When we were all changed, Brittany and I walked over to where Aid was coloring with Hayley. "Thank you so much Hay!" I said to her. "No problem! She's a doll, Jen!" She said smiling. Hayley then said her goodbyes and left.
