Chapter four:

Nalani Asani

"So nice of you to finally call me." A sarcastic Kendra answered the phone.

Nalani rolled her eyes. "It's only been a week since I haven't called. Chill."

"So who's been keeping you away from calling me?" Kendra asked her as Nalani could already tell she was smirking.

"No one. Geez."

"Mhm, lemme find out you and that psycho path guy-"

"He's not a psycho. And before you go all out and ask me how I know, he was in my circle and he told all of us why he was in here." She corrected her.

"Which is?"

"Drug related stuff."

"Did you tell him about.."

"No. I'm not ready to open up about it and that's just how it's gonna stay like right now until I'm ready." She rested the phone against her ear and shoulder.

"Fair enough. Well I won't keep you too long since I know you have a session with your circle in a couple minutes. Thanks for checking in with me though."

"Mhm. And I'll even make sure to call you tomorrow to show you how much I care." Nalani smiled as Kendra began to laugh.

"Okay girl. Bye." She said before disconnecting the call.

Hanging up the phone, Nalani scanned the cafeteria looking for Kareem.

Spotting him, Nalani went over to where he was which was at an empty table.

"Watchu' up to?" Nalani sneaked behind him, causing him to chuckle.

"Isn't it obvious?" He questioned, sounding more like a statement.

Grabbing a seat next to him at the table she looked over at what he was reading.

"What's all this?" She said reddening to the packet of paper.

"It's paperwork from my company I'm looking over. Even though I'm in dis' place for lil' I still have a job that's still in process at the moment."

Nalani had discovered that he owned his own companyyy Atlanta for two years now and they dealt with financial related stuff.

"Okay Mr. Business man." Nalani smirked as he looked over at her.

Smiling he shook his head, going back to reading over paperwork one of his workers at the company brought him earlier today.

Nalani decided to occupy herself for the time being also as she began to watch what they had on the tv.

"This show is so stupid." Nalani commented causing Kareem to glance up.

"You don't like Jerry Springer?" His question coming out surprised.

"No. Y'kno', why doesn't his old ass just retire or somethin' instead of getting involved in other people's business and causing more problems and instigating shit." She ranted.

"You really don't like him huh?" Kareem laughed.

"Hate his old perverted ass." Nalani mumbled.
