Chapter 5:
Nalani Asani
Two weeks later..
"One more week and I'm out this mothafucka'." Kareem smiled, laying back on Nalani's bed.
"Lucky you. I still have another two weeks." Nalani mumbled sitting on her bed next to him with a sketch book in her lap.
"It's gon' pass by fast. Trust me." Kareem assured her.
Due to good behaviour that Nalani was showing at the facility, they decided to reduce her time there.
"Whatever." Nalani shook him off, opening the book to a new page.
When she wasn't in her group or occupied with anything else, she would usually draw. She wasn't the best but she was starting to get the hang of it.
"Wait go back a second– you drew this?" Kareem asked her sitting up and flipping the page back to the drawing that caught his attention.
"Yeah."
"It's actually really good." He admitted causing Nalani to wave him off, not believing him.
"Stop lying."
"Nah' I'm serious. You talented as fuck." Kareem nudged her.
Smiling, Nalani flipped back to the blank page.
"You're hair grows back fast man. Just the other day it was shaved." Kareem stated out of the blue, grabbing a strand of her hair.
"I know. I wanna shave it again." Nalani fussed.
"Don't. I like it like this."
Looking over at him, she raised an eyebrow. "Okay. But at the end of the day it's my hair."
"I know. But keep it like this for a while." Kareem licked over his bottom lip as Nalani's eyes followed his movement.
Over the weeks of Nalani knowing Kareem, she couldn't help but to notice how good looking he was.
Nalalni admired how successful and hard working he was. Even in here he was checking up on his company.
"What?" Kareem smirked at her as Nalani continued to stare at him.
"Nothing.."
"Nothing huh?"
Shaking her head no, Kareem chuckled.
"I wanna talk about something." Nalani turned to him.
"About?"
"Why im here. I never really told you why and I think I'm ready to talk to it about you." Nalani breathed.
"You don't have to if you don't-"
"No it's fine. I want to." She assumed him.
Nodding, Kareem waited for her to speak as she reined silent for a minute.
