It didn't sink in till later that I had won. I woke up from my nap to Phil shaking me, and I was immediately excited. It took me a moment to realize why, then I remembered what had happened earlier. Phil sat down on the bed next to me.

"Feel better?"

"Yeah." It was quiet for a moment before he spoke.

"You wanna tell me how you did it or?"

"I don't know how I did it. I didn't even know I had until you told me."

"Ok." He still looked skeptical.

"Look, don't worry about it. I won, right? Let's be happy and focus on what's happening later."

"Mock battles." He smiled and nodded.

"Where are the others?"

"I'm not sure, they might be warming up by now." I nodded and got up. I walked over to where my trident leaned up against the wall and picked it up, then walked out the room with Phil following. It would be good to warm up as a group, and we still had about 30 minutes.

He was right, they were out practicing when we found them. Shay was walking around in a circle around Tino, who was concentrating on sending small shock waves. Tino had the power to control earthquakes, which was pretty cool and he was the only one to have it. Well, others had the power, but weren't as good as Tino and therefore weren't in our Legion.

The powers we got came from our parents, which is why I can control water. Tino creates earthquakes, Phil 'controls tides' which means he can push and pull water but not manipulate it, and Shay is good with ocean animals. He doesn't really talk to them, so much as he understands them and can make them do what he wants. It's not very helpful in battle, but I suppose if we needed to cross an ocean he had our backs.

I stopped in front of the two, who hadn't even notice Phil and I walk up. I looked over at Phil and shook my head.

"Don't wear yourselves out, losers," I said. They spun around and faced us in fighting positions before realizing it was just us and relaxing, looking down shamefully.

"Are you feeling ok?" Shay said, looking at me worriedly.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You ready to win this thing?" I turned to all three of them. I was feeling perfectly fine now, hyped up on adrenaline and ready to kick some ass.

"Hell yeah," Tino said, and high-fived me. I held up my trident and raised my eyebrows, signaling to them that talking was over. Tino reached back and brought out his sword. I had always admired the thing. It had a shiny silver blade, with an intricate hilt that had been intertwined with light blue gems and our emblem. All of our gear was made specifically for the Neptune legion and was a gift from dad.

He swung up the blade so that it hit against my trident. I smiled before taking a step back and lining up with Phil. It would be me and him against Shay and Tino for practice this time. Phil pulled out his sword, and stepped in closer to me. Shay looked around for a minute before remembering that he had left his spear on the ground a few feet away. Tino sighed and shook his head.

"You're making me look bad, dude," he said. Shay scrambled off, grabbed his spear, and was back in a flash. He shuffled his feet around, lining himself up with Tino then planted his feet. He brought the spear up, thinking for a second, then aiming it at my heart. I looked into his eyes for a brief moment then made the first move, knocking the spear back and closing off any opening Tino would have to attack me. Phil moved almost instantly, rebounding against my move and going for Shay.

It went on like that for a few minutes. We circled around each other, pretending to take hits and practicing working with one another. Jeremy called out five minutes till, and we stopped to get water and wait.
