AU where a social anxiety filled Rocky starts college and the only person he can talk to without having an anxiety attack is his best friend Chase. ( Heyy maybe I am kinda good with descriptions X3 )

~~

Today was like any other day in Adventure Bay, apart from occasional cool winds scattering dead, fallen leaves on the ground. Adventure Bay College, or Adventure College for short, was your typical college - Boring, stressful and challenging.

It was boring because it's basically the same routine each day - Wake up, go to class, try to get through the day without smashing your face repeatedly into a brick wall, go home, repeat.

Stressful because there is a ton of work and time management plays a major part in this and its also best you know how to prioritize. And challenging, especially the advanced courses. Also you must go around all the drama, if there is any. You are just introduced to such a different lifestyle and so many new things and you just have to figure it all out. Basically just work, work and work, cramming material into your head.

It was Rocky's first day of college and to be honest, he was pretty nervous thinking of all the pros and cons of starting college. Rocky let a sigh slip out as he continued walking down the sidewalk to get his dorm room key. Due to him staring at the ground and not in front of him, he bumped into a person, stumbling backwards. "S-sorry," Rocky apologized immediately, hoping he didn't upset the person. That's the last thing the grey-haired boy wanted, especially on the first day.

The person Rocky bumped into didn't seem fazed at all. He was too enveloped in his phone to really notice. And because he had his headphones on, music blasting, he couldn't hear Rocky's apology. Rocky watched as the stranger kept walking past him, toward the dormitories. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and continued to get his room key.

Rocky became even more nervous and uncomfortable as he entered the building, seeing a bunch of people in lines. He stood in the shortest line in the room hoping to just get his key and hurry to his room. As the grey-haired boy stood in line he started to wonder what kind of person would his roommate be. To be honest, he didn't want a roommate, he wanted to have a room all to himself, but he knew the odds of that happening were very slim. "Next," the lady called. Rocky hesitantly made his way to the counter, the lady smiling at him. "Name please" she said in a cheerful tone.

Rocky started fidgeting, his eyes looking anywhere but at the lady. After a moment he finally told her his name. "R-rocky" he said no louder than a whisper, but she still understood. Rocky has always been socially awkward. He couldn't really talk to anybody without stumbling over his words or breaking down. Its part of the reason he had no friends up into his Junior year in high school. "Here you go," she said in the same cheerful tone. "Have a nice day" Rocky only nodded as he hurried toward the dormitories wanting avoid anymore interactions with people.

As he walked, he thought more about the whole roommate thing. A part of him was hoping it was his best friend Chase. The brunette was the only person that Rocky could talk to without having an anxiety attack and he liked that. He also liked the brunette but he told himself, he was just physically attracted to him and nothing more. Rocky was gay and didn't really try to hide it. Then again he didn't try to show it either. He sighed as he continued toward his room. Room 243.

Zuma lazily rolled out of bed hitting the cold, hardwood floor. He was still pretty much asleep so he didn't react. He looked up at the clock on his nightstand and noticed that he had woken up before his alarm. Again. He groaned as he sat up from his face plant on the floor and sat there for a good 5 minutes before actually starting to get ready for his first day of college. He stood up and headed to the bathroom, brushing his teeth while he showered. Starting college really didn't faze Zuma, mostly cause he really didn't care. Zuma is a chill, laid-back kind of person who didn't do much. It surprised everyone when he graduated from high school because the boy never put forth any effort toward anything, besides sleeping in class.

Basically he was the kind of person who wasn't stupid, but too lazy to show you how smart he really is. After his shower, he walked downstairs into the kitchen to find a plate of breakfast already made and a note on the counter. Zuma didn't bother reading the note, knowing it was from his older brother. It's not that he hated his brother, his brother was just too clingy, always hugging him and telling him how much he loves his little brother. It was just too much for Zuma. It's part of the reason he was going to college in the first place, but of course he wouldn't tell his brother that.

He headed out the door and started toward Adventure College. Zuma put his headphones on to block out the world around him. Music was like his escape from reality, the only thing that kept him from setting fire to people around him. He continued walking, not paying attention to anything as he was so interested in his phone, that he didn't notice he bumped into someone. After a moment he finally glanced over his shoulder to see a grey-haired boy standing there, exhaling deeply. He stared for a few seconds before walking to the dormitories.

He had already grabbed his room key. Room 243. As he arrived, Zuma took advantage of getting there before his roommate and took the side of the room with them window. The chocolate-haired boy decided to unpack a few things, thinking about who his roommate might be. He hadn't given it much thought but he shrugged not really caring whom he shared a room with, just as long as they were tolerable. After unpacking a few things, Zuma decided he would take a little nap before his roommate arrived, so he plugged in his headphones and closed his eyes.

Rocky made it to his room and noticed the door was slightly open which meant that he had a roommate and he was there. He swallowed hard, not wanting to go into the room. In all honesty he wanted to go back and ask for a room all to himself. But he knew he couldn't and wouldn't do that. With a deep breath he walked into his room only to see his roommate asleep. He let out a sigh of relief that's he didn't have to actually talk to him, yet.

He set his bags down on the bed and started to unpack placing things where he wanted. Rocky was arranging things on the desk when the boy who he thought was sleeping, spoke up, "Hey," he said with a yawn causing Rocky to jump a bit. The grey-haired boy turned to see Zuma now sitting up in his bed, rubbing his eyes. Rocky knew he couldn't just not say anything back, but knew if he did he would stumble over his words like crazy so instead he forced a small smile and waved.

Zuma raised an eye row thinking if the boy was mute. "So I guess were woommates then," He stated. Rocky only nodded on response causing Zuma to sigh. Rocky wanted to make conversation with the boy, he really did, but he didn't have the confidence to talk to people so he just chose not to say anything.

"My names Zuma" he introduced himself. Rocky knew he had to respond because he didn't want to come off as rude by not answering. So Rocky gathered up some courage and said, "M-my name is R-rocky" he stuttered a bit looking down at the ground beside him. Zuma opened one eye, looking at the boy who was fidgeting and could tell he was not used to talking to people and was getting uncomfortable. "Cool," Zuma said, referring to his name.
