In the beginning, there were several abnormals whom were so powerful, they were revered as gods. Chao'ri was one of the most powerful along with her brothers, Corin and Dionysus. Chao'ri was the goddess of light, eternal life and rebirth. Corin was the god of war and death. Dionysus; better known for his Roman alias of Bacchus, the god of wine and the harvest was next. Corin was never happy with the number of followers he gained, he expected more and had a constant hunger for power, which grew and grew over the thousands of years that had passed. Of course this worried Chao'ri and Dionysus, but things weren't becoming a problem until the six thousandth year of existence. Bacchus had created a race of beings that gained immortality through Chao'ri's blessings. They had strength and speed like non had seen before. Chao'ri had done the same, with more intelligence than anyone could fathom as well as the strength and speed equal to Bacchus' race and the same immortality.
Corin didn't like the fact that his siblings wouldn't share the rule over their own races, which why should they? He did nothing to help the creation of either race. Each race thrived, ruling over the humans, helping the humans to advance in many ways. But there came the time that Corin's jealousy festered and rotted inside, becoming a deep rage and hatred. In his blind hatred, he cursed his siblings. Both siblings gained the need to ingest blood. Chao'ri gained black eyes when feeding, or preparing to feed. Amongst those solid black eyes, fangs and claws would emerge. This curse also impacted any of those she had welcomed into her "family" with the same afflictions. Chao'ri's most loyal followers were appointed as rulers of her race named by the ancient Sumerians as "The Akhkharu" meaning "Blood demon". Bacchus suffered differently. In the midst of his hunger, his usually piercing blue eyes would become red and almost glowing. His usually dark brown hair lost all colour and turned silvery white. Fangs similar to those of his sister's elongated to pierce the skin, muscle and vascular tissue in order to get to the blood supply. One bite from he and his race, would leave the victim unable to stay away from the one whom had bitten them. The victims became bound to eternal devotion to that one creature, unless victor or victim were to be taken by death. This race of beings had been named "Bakkheia", being plural for Bacchus, or so it is believed. The human term for the after effects of a Bakkheia bite was "Bakkheia Fever."
Many misconceptions and false hopes on how to weaken; or even kill members of the Akhkharus and Bakkheia races existed. But the truth is, the true methods were lost, or perhaps purposely misplaced or erased from all notations in order to preserve the remaining members of the races. Each of these mighty races were brutally and mercilessly hunted down and killed until the hunters and the church members could find no more trace of them, believing to have driven them to extinction. But in truth, they slumber in un-noticed, un-recorded, underground temples. Chao'ri and her three, most loyal followers slumber somewhere beneath what is now known as Northern America, where as Bacchus and his daughter, Anika, slumber somewhere under Greece. Lost in time, there are few ways to find them, but there are still chances; as an uprising archaeologist found out for herself.
Now in order to tell you what this archaeologist stumbled upon, I would first have to tell you what happened before Chao'ri and her three faithful followers before they went into what is known as stasis. In the thick of a battle for survival against hunters, a rather sad thing happened to Chao'ri. She was gravely injured near the end of the battle. Once the battle was won by the three Akhkharus kings, they took their goddess into the stasis chamber. In order to heal, Chao'ri had to go into stasis in the form of a giant bat; the only one of their kind with the ability to become a bat. In order to protect their goddess, each of the kings took their places in the stasis sectors surrounding the giant bat that was now encased in a brilliant white crystal. This way, if they were found, the hunters would not be able to awaken and harm Chao'ri. For two thousand years, they slumbered, forgotten by the world.
