I played on my phone all the way home. Oliver opened my door opened my door and he pushed away the few paparazzi left after the media buzz. I unlocked the door to my home, the floor of this building that my best friend Brooklyn and I shared.
"Ding dong, honey I'm home." I sang when I walked in. My surroundings instantly relaxed me. We had two dogs together, a Collie named Honey and a Beagle named Snoopy. They both went crazy and I sat down in the living room patting their heads. Brooklyn walked in, her dark hair was in a braid and she shushed me. Brook pointed to the phone in her hand and signaled momzilla was on the phone. My heart skipped a beat and I pulled a hand across my neck telling her to hang up. Brooklyn was really bad at talking to adults. Which is why she rarely gets a job.
"No, Mrs. Marie, Ella hasn't come home yet." Her voice was shaky as she responded to the creature on the line. I could hear Marie yelling from here. Brook winced at something she said. "Can I just call you when she gets home." I put my hands out to stop her but she had finished her sentence. Now to talk to her at some point tonight. I sighed and motioned for her to hand me the phone.
"Evening, Marie." I greeted.
"Ella Cinder Mills," my full name, this wasn't gonna be good. "What have I told you about interviews?"
"But, normal is boring Mum!" I whined. It's not like I listened to what she said anyway.
"Well, the public is who decides your career. Think about the all the- shit. Okay, Jimmy Choos is finally calling me back. Answer your phone young lady, I'm gonna call you later!"
"Good night." I quickly hung up the phone.
Brook had a solemn look on her naturally tanned face as she brought me a cup of tea. She was portuguese, and we looked pretty funny with my blonde hair blue eyes and her almost black hair and dark brown eyes. "I'm sorry. I just-"
"It's ok, I had to talk to her at some point." I sighed and took a sip of the tea Brook had made me. At least she hadn't mouthed off like she did to adults when she was younger. Now she just tried to say as little as possible to anyone bossing her around.
"I loved Jimmy's face when you asked that." She referred to my interview earlier and I smiled.
"Yeah, at least he didn't say no." I joked.
"No one could ever say no to those eyes." My silly bestie tapped my nose and we both laughed. "So, what are you wearing tomorrow?"
I pulled up the picture on my phone of the dress and Brook snatched my phone and looked at it. I have always liked pastel colors on myself, and this light blue dress was perfect. In my spare time I loved to browse dress shops, and with my current paychecks I had cash for any dress I wanted. With all my shopping i was destined to find at least a few stunning dresses. This light blue dress was tight at the top, but just above my waist the sheer fabric loosened and stopped around my knees. It was perfect for twirling! The top had crystal sleeves that landed a a little closer to my forearms than my shoulders and the crystaline went across my chest, connected the two sides. My mom had agreed to a short dress for once because the light blue color. This is one of those times I kinda thanked Cinderella stereotypes.
"I can't wait to wear it! I ordered it from a designer a long time ago and thought it would be perfect for the Summer Awards." I smiled thinking of all I had done this summer. Commercials, few TV shows, and a huge movie.
"Its amazing! And your hair is gonna look perfect with it! Duke might drool."
"Ugh, please don't make me think of that jerkhole." Duke Mannings was my fake boyfirend, and he was always making moves on me. He slept with a girl almost every night and got in bar fights, but he was also an incredily famous actor. It was hailarious how his roles always fit his personality, villainous.
"Maybe you can sneak away like you did the last show." We laughed together at the time I managed to trade seats with Sara Bareilles and after the red carpet I didnt see Duke the rest of the night. He. Was. Pissed.
"Oh, Brook, I wish! Sara wont be at this show. Anna Kendrick might be there, though."
"I wish I could go." Brook pouted at me, I sighed and snuggled closer to Honey, who was sitting next to me on the couch.
"I do too."
"You have to get up early tomorrow, off to bed you little rebel." Brooke slapped my arm, and i stood up and shuffled to my bedroom. Snoopy slept with Brooke, so brought the other dogs in my room and closed my door.
My vintage-like bedroom was made special for me. The room was big, and at the back were to big windows with thick white drapes. Inbetween those two windows was my wonderful bed. My bed had light pink sheets and a white upholstered bed frame. Right now I had a white comforter and a large fluffy pink quilt. I have a million pillows, most of them are pink and blue to match my theme. On either side of my wonderful bed is a bed stand with a drawer and a decoration, like a vintage clock or a fake rose, and at the end is a white vintage love seat. There is currently a chandelier hanging in the middle of room, over a light pink couch and coffee table, but I refuse to go over there out of fear it will fall. To the left of my bed was my big desk, where I study my lines and work. My room walls were creme and white chevron and the floor was hardwood with white furry throw rugs under any furniture.
I flipped off my shoes in the middle of the floor and Honey jumped in my bed. My feet padded softly to the closet and I picked out some soft pink and black striped pajamas. Honey scooted over a little as I curled up under the thick blankets next to her. With a clap of my hands the lights went out and I drifted off into blissful sleep.
