Briar's POV
I was stood watching the fireworks, my hand is clamped to Myles' because if how cold I am and he's the only warmth I can get. The fireworks stop for a minute and Myles goes to buy some food, leaving me in the cold but I don't mind because he's bringing food back.
I'd been stood out here by myself for a few minutes and the wind had got stronger, leaving me colder. Then the fireworks started again, they were being blown about everywhere, that's when I saw one bright light flying towards me, I panicked and couldn't move, the light got nearer and suddenly everything set on fire around me, it looked beautiful different colours sparking around me and then all of a sudden blackness,
Myles' POV
It had been a week now since Briar was burnt, now she's in a coma and the chances of her waking up are slim to none but I still have hope because I know Briar's a fighter, I'm sat by her hospital bed and watching her burnt, damaged and yet still beautiful body take forced breaths, I was listing to the steady bleep of the machines around her, none of this was right Briar should be on a stage somewhere dancing and impressing the judges not lay in a hospital only just hanging onto life. Her once long and thick blonde hair has been singed black and most of it has fallen off yet she still looks like my Briar.
It had been two weeks since the accident, hopes were small on Briar's life, they were turning off life support in three days. That's all the time she's got left to wake up and as much as I want to believe that she's going to wake up and be fine I know it's not going to happen, she's not strong enough to breath by herself and I know that three days aren't going to completely change this.
Today was the day, she had exactly four hours, thirty seven minutes and 14 seconds to wake up or she's going to have life support turned off. I don't know what my life looks without Briar in but because of that one mistake and that one firework I'm soon going to find out. I'm by her side just watching my girl take some her very last breaths.
The doctor walks in, this is it, this is the end. He begins to flick switches all of which will end her life, I'm helpless I'm a useless boyfriend, I need Briar and yet I have to sit here and watch all her life be turned off, there's no greater torture
"Briar Nolet is dead, I'm sorry." and that's it I've lost my world and it was all because of that one firework, this is the price I have to pay for leaving her alone.
