Chapter 1

When I woke, I found myself in front of a campfire. I was surrounded by plants and trees. The four men was nowhere to be found. Luckily, no beast had taken an interest to eat me.

What am I going to do now?

I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was angel guy in his human form. His wings were nowhere in sight. Must have hid it somewhere.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah. Where are the others?"

As if on cue, they appeared behind me. The four of them sat in the other side of the campfire. We were staring with one another waiting for someone to talk first. They were all on human form.

"Who are you?" I asked. I was confused about these people. They don't owe me something so why would they help me? I also don't understand a thing about them being a beast. They are human, just a bit different.

They looked at each other and finally decided to let sphinx guy talk.

"Okay sunshine. Here's the deal. You heard them say about us being magical beasts right? Well, that was true. Surprise."

I glared at him. He sighed and continued speaking, "You probably know you are a Guardian Summoner right? Well, as a summoner. You can have beasts but first you have to contract them first which you probably know about. The point is, we are your beasts."

"No freaking way. If you are, I should remember having contracts with you guys which we didn't." I said.

"Actually we did. Remember that time on your third preliminary trial? I was a reward by completing the trial. I offered myself to you and you accepted. That was a contract signing." He said.

"Shelly here-" pointing to trident guy, "-is the one who helped you by that raping octopus."

"I know that. How did I contract with him?" I asked.

"He is also a reward. Remember that blue orb that you got from the hydra head? That was an egg. You dropped your blood on the egg meaning you claim ownership. That was the contract signing." He said.

"But he did not even agreed."

"He did. After he was hatched, he became that slimy oyster right? He could break the contract but he chose not to."

"He on the other hand-" pointing to angel guy "-is the bird you saved that night. I don't know how this is possible but when you healed him, your magic power was not enough so a bit of your life force got absorbed. The heavens accepted it as a contract, he accepted it so you also have him as your beast."

I was still confused. I pointed at the green armored guy, "How about him? You still did not explain how I contracted him?"

"Let me explain this." Said the green armored guy. "There is a reason why Guardian Summoners has an advantage to any other summoner. It's because they have what they call Guardian Beast. It is a beast that the summoner will acquire on the day his power will manifest. Basically, I was yours from the start."

I stared at him mouth agape, "Wow."

I'm still confused. I looked at the angel guy and trident guy, "How is it then that you look different from the start. I mean, you were just a Golden Dove before and you were just a squiggly slime thing on an shell. How did you evolve to this."

Sphinx guy chose to explain this to me, "I can't believe how hard it is to explain things. Okay. You already know the leveling right?" To which I nodded. "Well, just like you, we also level up. It all depends on the summoner. If you're a Beginner. We are only Bronze-Ranked beasts. You know what that means right? It means I would not be a Three-eyed Sphinx right now but a Psychic Kitten."

I seemed to understand it a little but I motioned for him to continue explaining, "It also means you can only contract Bronze-Ranked beasts. Higher than that? It would kill you. After Bronze-Rank comes Silver-Ranked beasts. It's only for the Intermediate Level. The same as Bronze-Ranked, you can't contract a beasts higher level than you are. The same applies to the higher levels. Advanced Level corresponds to Gold-Ranked beasts. Expert Level corresponds to Platinum-Ranked beasts and the highest level Mastered corresponds to Diamond-Ranked beasts.

"And since you have the ability Maximum. You were able to maximize our levels which evolved us to the highest." He continued.

"So what kind of beasts are you now?" I said.

"Well, I'm a Three-eyed beast. Shelly is a Shell Sea King. That angel is a Nephilim and your Guardian Beast is a Forest Emperor." He explained.

My eyes kept on getting bigger when he said what beast they are. Especially when he said about my Guardian Beast to be a Forest Emperor. Just like its name implies, it is the Emperor of all plant-type beasts. How did I became do lucky?

Nephilim? One of the rarest beasts. Shell Sea King? One of the beast with highest defence. Three-Eyed Sphinx? One of the most intelligent beasts in the world.

I tried digesting it. "Okay" is the only word I said. Then I slept.
