I already knew he was referring to me but I have this thing inside me that keeps saying that 'No. It is not you. Don't worry'.

Unfortunately, the heavens are against me today.

I looked at the Elders and only Elder Mia and Grandpa Rashid have a smiling face in me. The rest wore their serious looks and I can't help being uncomfortable from their gazes.

"I already explained to you what I think about him. It is now up to your decisions." Elder Orion explained.

Of course, Elder Mia was the first to speak. She smiled at me and then, "I agree. He deserves to be an Elder. This way, I can have a bestfriend."

"I also agree." Grandpa Rashid said with a smile.

"Why not? He is a very great addition to our team." Elder Rexx said.

"Though he is young and this responsibilities might overwhelm him, no one can deny that he has made the greatest contribution for the Elves. So I also agree." Elder Lance said which greatly surprised me.

The only person left to decide now is Elder Chase. She was still assessing me. Her cold gaze is like telling me that 'You can't be an Elder without my say' which is very intimidating.

All the people were anticipating what the Elder is going to say. I was even holding my breath.

I heard Elder Mia released a whispered grumble to Elder Lance, 'Why can't she just say yes?'

Elder Chase probably heard it because she sighed and raised his hands as if saying 'I admit defeat.'

"Alright. I agree."

Then the cheers came. Elder Mia rushed over me and hugged me while saying 'Congratulations.'

Elder Orion made me come in front and presented me to the whole Village.

"Welcome our new Elder. Elder Skylar, The Divine Summoner."

To see the people looking at me with reverence was very exhilirating. It increased the worry in me, I mean, they have expected faces on them but what if I fail as an Elder.

Someone tapped my back and I looked back to see Grandpa Rashid smiling at me.

"It's okay. I know the feeling. Just remember, we can't do anything. If you feel you can't do it, ask for someone and they will help you. We people made mistakes that is why we need comrades to help us."

"This will be the last announcement in today's meeting. As you can see on our surroundings, Magical Beasts of rare kind are around us. One of them, a being of higher intellect, has communicated with us with the help of Elder Rexx, the Elder of Beasts. We have reached an agreement that we will have a mutual relationship with each other. We will allow them to be residents here in the Village so be respectful to them and do not disturb them. At the same time, they will also help us assist and defend the Village. We will experience their assistance later."
Elder Orion waved his hand and tables made of vines and wood came out the ground followed by flower-like chairs.

"Sit everyone."

Elder Orion also made a sit for us on the front. When everyone was seated, the Dryads on the trees came out one by one. They are holding plates made of wood which is full of fruits and put it on the tables.

Gold-Ranked Harpies are flying above us carrying cooked meat and delivering it to the tables.
Fair Elves mostly are vegetarian but there are also exceptions like myself. I mean, how can I resist meat. Yum. Besides, the Drow are also not vegetarians.

What made me sigh in amazement though is how they managed to make those beasts serve us. I looked over at Elder Rexx and he simply winked at me.

The sequence of our places on the table is based on our ranks. Basically, as the Grand Elder, Elder Orion sat on the middle. To his right is Elder Chase, though she is new, her reputation was good for the Elves especially when she is the one who led the reinforements. To his left is Grandpa Rashid, just like Elder Chase, Grandpa also made quite a reputation.

Beside Elder Chase is Elder Lance then beside him is Elder Rex.
Beside Grandpa Rashid is Elder Mia then beside her is me.

"Hey, did Elder Rexx do anything to make those beast do these things like serving us?" I asked Elder Mia.

She shook her head, she drank water first to swallow what she ate then explained, "Actually those beast were the one who approached us. They wanted to be of help to us and since Elder Rexx is the only person who can communicate with them, he was in charge for the negotiations. In exchange for the service, they would like to stay here permanently. The Nature Energy here is far too abundant and they greatly needed it to level up."

"I see." I nodded. "Hey, if different kinds of beasts come here, is there a possibility of a dangerous one coming here?"

She looked at me and was deciding if she should tell me or not.

"Actually, Elder Rexx sensed a very dangerous beast at the east side of the Village. We never alerted the Villagers in fear of causing a panic. You don't have to worry, if the beast have evil intentions, it can't come inside here. The problem is that we can't use the river for a moment. Elder Orion already announced that no one has to leave the Village. If you have to, you'll have to ask permission first either from the Trees or the Elders."
I nodded.

"I don't really know how serious this problem is because I didn't see the river but from what I heard from Rexx, it is extremely serious. He said that the river turned to green and bubbles containing hot air would rise up from the water. All the creatured who lived there died because of the environment. Rexx said that the river was poisoned, so much that it made the land surrounding it infertile. Not even grass can grow." She said in a whisper then continued eating.
What kind of beast is capable of doing that?

When we were eating, Elder Orion talked to us new Elders. Apparently, we have to recruit followers to join our cause.

Each Elder is assigned to a task like Elder Mia as the Elder of Families, her job is to organize events and do her rounds on the Village to see their living conditions. She also settles rift and conflicts if a fight broke out.

Elder Lance is the Elder of Defense. Basically, he trains young Elves and teach them the art of fighting to defend the Village and its citizens from invaders.

Elder Rexx is the Elder of Beasts. He is somewhat the mediator between beasts and Elves because of his ability to communicate with them. He is in charge of the beasts that helps us guard the Village like the Demon Spiders and Grug, the Stone Giant.

Elder Orion has the title of Grand Elder. His duty is guarding the Elder Tree and the Fountain of Youth underneath it.

Since we were new, Elder Orion has to assign us our tasks. He gave Grandpa Rashid the title: Elder of Guidance. Elder Chase was now the Elder of the Hunt while I was the Elder of Nature.

"There are still many Elves who haven't join a faction. Elder Mia's The Family Circle has only four members, all women who she calls as The Circlets. The Family Hall was located atop the Elder but will be relocated in the grounds.

"Elder Rexx' Beastiary has no members yet. He doesn't have any is not because nobody likes it. It is because he didn't build a Hall for himself and because of that, anyone who wants to be a member don't know where to go find him because he is always out to who knows where." Elder Orion said eyeing Elder Rexx. Elder Rexx only gave a sheepish smile.

The Grand Elder sighed and continued, "Elder Lance calls his organization the Shield. His members are numerous whom he calls us the Defenders. His members are mostly young Elves on their teens and most are boys. His Defense Hall is located at the Training Grounds."

Elder Orion looked at us, "You have to convince the Elves to join you so you can gain members."

This is going to be nightmare.
