Chapter 16

The spider let out another shriek before running off climbing towards the trees. The leader of the elves gestured with his hand and the others followed the spider. The leader was left with two kids, one of them was holding Master Rashid's horse.

"Old friend, you okay? We found your horse, we came as fast as possible. Hopefully, no casualties happened." The leader spoke. "We've been tracking down that rogue Demon Spider but we found no clues until now. We'll subdue it soon."

Master Rashid laughed and went closer the elf leader. They hugged each other with those manly hugs. "My friend here was injured. Help him?"

The leader motioned to the other kid. The kid came closer and took my injured wrist. He murmured something and a green hue surrounded my wound. The pain vanished replaced by a cool sensation then the wound was gone. The kid went back to the side of their leader.

The leader looked at me, "Who's this?" He asked Master Rashid.

"This little guy is lost and I think he found his home." Master Rashid spoke softly.

When I heard the elves coming, I immediately raise up my hood to hide my identity. I don't know why but I'm scared. Scared that they won't accept me. "Come on Sky. Show yourself. Don't be afraid." Master Rashid encouraged me.

I took a deep breath before holding my hood. I closed my eyes then lowered it down showing them my identity. The leader gasp as well as the kids then they jumped. They were shouting and jumping with glee.

The leader bowed to Master Rashid, "Thank you. For bringing our brother home."

The kid with the horse gave the horse to the Light Master and he took my hand while the other kid took the other hand of mine. They were running and they were pulling me to follow them.

I looked over at Master Rashid but he was smiling as if saying it was okay.

What I saw was the most beautiful scene that I've seen in my life. The Capital sure is magnificent but this place is more beautiful. I was faced with the biggest tree in my life. Branches are littered everywhere and every branch has cottages. At the topmost branch is a very big castle made of wood but embedied with beautiful gemstones. Kids were running around hanging down on tree vines. Others were practicing swordplay. It was beautiful.

"You should see it at night. It was far more beautiful. I'm Ren by the way." The kid on my left said.

The other kid grinned at me, "I'm Rin. We're twins."

"Let's go faster. We have to tell Mia about you." They both said but while saying that, I also felt them get nervous.

I just let them lead me. We rode on a wooden plank tied by ropes. It then started to go up. When I looked down, we were already far from the ground and it made me dizzy. "Mom said you'll get use to it so don't worry."

We arrived on that wooden castle. Now that I'm close to it, you can see now its elegance. The walls are carved with intricate designs that you can't help but look in awe. Inside was much more beautiful. Wooden sculptures were aligned at the sides like guards. These elves has wings like me.

"These sculptures are our past elders but they passed away cause of the war. Come, I'm going to introduce you to my favourite elder." Ren said.

He led me to an elf woman playing a flute. Her eyes are close and even though she's just a sculpture, you can still feel her music wafting over to our own souls. I didn't even notice that I was closing my eyes and was humming a song I don't know about.

"This is Elder Selene. She was the Elder of Music. She was in charge of playing sounds when there is an event with her students. When I heard her play her flute for the first time, I vowed that I also want to learn from her." Ren said. He was looking at the sculpture with deep longing.

"Enough of that. Let me show you my favoirite one too." Rin said while pulling me to a sculpture. "He is Elder Mellark. He is in charge of hunting. Father was the one who's leading the hunt now but he was still not qualified to become an Elder. I vowed to myself I will replace him and will become an Elder." He said with such conviction that surprised me.

"How can you become an elder?" I said.

"Well. To be an elder is a very hard task to do. First of all, you have to at least be an Advanced-Ranked in Nature Magic and you also have to be a High Elf." They explained.

"Nature Magic? High Elf?" I murmured.

I haven't heard of High Elves but Nature Magic seemed familiar. I shrugged it off. I heard the clacking of footsteps coming. Both kids stand erect so I followed there lead. Out came a very pretty elf. Like me, she also has wings on her back.

She squealed like a pig and ran over to me and hugged me tightly. She looked at me smiling then hugged me again. I was just confused. What's up with her?

"Welcome!" She said while shaking my hand furiously. She resembles a lot like Susan. Remember Susan? The mother-like figure in the council while I was still attending ADELA? Yeah, her.

"I'm Mia." Then she hugged me again. I looked over the twins for help but they didn't even gave me a glance.

She stopped hugging me and focused her attention on the twins. I swear I saw them gulp. "I hope you boys didn't give Sky any hard time?" They both nodded. I didn't care how she knew my name but it was too funny seeing the twins acting like that. "What was that boys?" She said to which they replied, "Yes Elder Mia."

I was taken aback. This woman is an Elder? "You look surprise. You don't think I'm an Elder? I am the Elder of Families. We all treat each other families that's why I am in charge of welcoming you. Follow me. Boys, thank you for taking Sky here."

She led me to a room, "Clean yourself first. I'll wait here."

I entered the door and a tub of water was there. I went in there and took my time scrubbing my body. When I was finished, I took the cloth hanged and wiped myself then covered myself with it. I tied my hair pony tail and let my wings hang.

I left the room and I found out Elder Mia sitting on a chair reading something. She looked at me then her eyes widened. I thought she's going to comment about my body that's why I try hiding it but her attention was not on my body but my wings. She looked at my eyes, "You're a High Elf?"
