Soldier Time

Today is the day I officially become a soldier. I'm super nervous.

I go into the bathroom take a quick shower get out brush my teeth and my hair. then I put my hair up in a high bun that site right on top of my head so my hat could fit good. I did my makeup simple. I walk over to my closet and saw my uniform I grabbed it and put it on I looked in the mirror and saw a whole new different me, I liked it right then my mom came in and she looked nice all dressed up and my brother was in a little tuxedo he looked to so cute. my mom looked at me a started to cry.

"Awww mom don't cry, you will mess up your makeup!" I said kinda laughing

"I can't help it you look just like your father and I'm getting old it's hard for me to control my emotions!" she explained

I just laughed and nodded "Well let's get going!" My brother explained

"Okay okay, let's go" I said

We were off on our way to the schools auditorium.

20minutes later-

We were outside the school and I just looked around and saw all my so called friends all dressed up. I have to say I was a little jealous but then when I thought of it my uniform ment something, it had a meaning a purpose so I wouldn't trade it for anything.

When I walk through the school doors I felt all eyes on me. trust me I'm used to it but this time I felt proud. I walked my mom and brother to their seats and started to walk towards where I'm supposed to sit. I am the oh one to become a soldier from my school, it's a little sad if you think of it.

While I was walking toward my seat I heard a very annoying voice calling me the most stupidest name ever.

"Rissy? Rissy is that you?" I turn over to see Rocky and TJ staring at me shocked at me uniform.

"Yes, it's me and like I said its Iris or would I say Soldier Lagato." I said calmly keeping a straight face.

"Ha, you came a soldier! WOW! I'm shocked really, did not see this coming." TJ said laughing

"Oh, wait is little Rissy turning into her dead daddy well sweet heart you can end up like him for all I care." I just glared at Rocky.

"Where are you guys going anyways?" I said keeping my cool.

"Well I'm going to make up art school and TJ is going to styling school." Rocky said proudly

"So Rocky you still are trying to hide that ugly personality with makeup? I think you sound use more makeup then because the amount you wear now isn't hiding it all." I said smiling at Rocky.

"And for you TJ I hope you can style better for other people then you style yourself." with that I just smiled and left them with mad faces.

I sat in my seat and the ceremony began.

15min. till I go on I'm really scared oh gosh.

General Larenzo took the stage and begun his part.

"I am proud to bring this one new soldier up on this stage and bring her to the Army life." General Larenzo said while turning to me and smiling.

"Miss. Iris Lagato will you please come up here to begin the ceremony to become the soldier you are meant to be." General Larenzo said

I slowly get up and walk over to him.

"Miss.Lagato please put your hand on the American Flag and say the contents of the soldier" he said and I did just that, with a microphone in my hand and say the commandments of being a soldier.

"I Iris Lagato do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the constitution of the United States against the enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and the uniform code of the Military Justice. So Help Me God." I said everything and I took my hand off the flag.

"Congratulations you are now apart of the Army Family, congratulations!" General Larenzo said

I walked up to the platform to say my speech that I prepared. Oh Goss I'm super nervous now!

"Hello everyone as you have just seen I just became a soldier and its pretty scary but awsome at the same time" I paused while people stated laughing. After they were done I started again, "Right now I know mostly all of you and your probably think that I can't do this but I'm going to make some promises right now that I promise I will keep." I paused again.

"I am an American Soldier. I am a warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values. I will always place the mission first. I will never accept defeat. I will never quite. I will never leave a fallen comrade behind. I am disciples... physically and mentally through, trained and drills. I always mountain my arms, my equipment and myself. I stand ready to deploy, engage and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat. I am a guardian of Freedom and the American way of Life.

I am a American Soldier."
