Melilla's POV:

As we moved through the woods Nicolas held me close in his arms. I leaned my head on his shoulder and without meaning to I started to drift off. Dreams started to fill my head like they did every time I closed my eyes but like the dreams that came to me so did the nightmares.

As always, my dream began with me as a little girl again. I was sitting on a huge bed with a woman behind me. From what I could see she was stunning. She had extremely long almost white hair that seemed to hold some sort of glow to it. She was slender but had curves, was on the taller side, and had perfect posture, even when sitting. To me she was similar to one of those fairy godmothers from a classic fairytale. However, no matter how hard I tried I was unable to see her face but I referred to her as 'Mama'. As she sat behind me she would whisper sweet nothings in my ear or sing to me. Her voice; it was so sweet, so pure. The melody wrapped around me like a warm blanket. With her all I felt was love.  But suddenly the door to the room would fly open, moaning as if it were hurt.

A man stepped through the open space and with a flick of his wrist he made the woman fall off the bed. She landed with a loud thud I watched, not able to move from my spot on the bed. The woman called for my help as she struggled against invisible restraints but I couldn't give it to her because like her I was held captive to the bed. I wriggled, trying to break free and help the woman. As I did so the man with his dark features, tall build, and dead eyes chuckled. He moved slowly towards us. I wasn't sure what the outcome of his appearance would lead to this time, me or the woman.

But as he leaned over the bed with his cruel smile I knew he made his choice. Quickly his hand lashed out at me. Cries rose from the woman's mouth and with a snap of his fingers she was silences. I couldn't tell if she was unconscious or dead. The sick smile on the man's face grew. Suddenly, his hand flew out, ramming right into my chest. Harshly he pulled his hand out, holding my heart in it.

"I now hold the key to everything I've ever wanted." he said, quietly.

***

I was being shaken awake. The second that my eyes snapped open my arms flew upward, trying to protect myself. The bright light and white walls reminded me of the one time I was given medical attention at my old pack.

"Hush, little one, you are safe." a deep, soothing voice said to me. A hand softly stroked my hair back from my face. Without my permission my body leans closer to him. My eyes flick upwards to see who it was that gave me this sense of safety.

I looked into the kind grey eyes of an older man. Wrinkles formed on the outer sides of his eyes telling me he smiled or laughed a lot. He was huge, even when I was laying down I could tell.

"Welcome back, hun. You really worried your mates there for a while. You wouldn't wake up, are extremely dehydrated, and very malnourished. Wherever you came from must have had some awful people in it if you came out like this. We are going to start getting some meat on your bones." he said.

I looked up at him blankly, trying to process the fact that he was speaking to me without spitting, hitting, yelling, or touching me in any other harmful way. I finally blinked, this man was polar opposite from anyone from Blood Moon Pack. Had I blacked out or fallen asleep from tiredness I would've been woken up by freezing water and screaming.

"What are you doing?" the doctor asked, his bushy grey eyebrows scrunching together as I pinched him.

"Trying to see if I'm really awake. If I pinch myself it won't really work." I say quietly, pulling my hand back. I close my eyes, waiting for him to slap me, "Just do it."

"Do what?" the doctor said, confusion clear in his voice.

"You're–You're not going to hit me?" I ask, slowly opening my eyes in case he really is going to hit me and is just acting kind.

"Why would I hit you?" he asked.

"Because I deserve it. I touched you." I told him.

"Oh, little one, no. You do not deserve it."

"But at the Blood Moon Pack that's what they did."

"And they were wrong for it. You shouldn't have been treated that way. Somebody should have helped you."

"Molli wanted to. She said if it had been possible she would've helped me leave sooner but she had to wait until I turned eighteen."

"Who is Molli?"

"She is–" I got caught off by Molli.

"Hello, Doctor Miller, my name is Molli. I am both Malilla's wolf and vampire." she said in his head.

The doctor gasped, "Little one, you are something truly special," the doctor said. "You are what we call a hybrid."

I looked up at him in confusion. What was he talking about? He must have caught my look because he starts to explain.

"Malilla, a hybrid is when two different species come together and make a child. That being said, it is extremely hard for this to happen. For one thing, the baby can only be conceived on the night of a full moon and born on the night of a full moon. The child could almost pass as a human child except that they heal a bit faster. Hybrids reach maturity at eighteen and gain the gift of immortality. Because a hybrid comes from two different species they usually have a mate from each side. Your case seems to be a bit different. You are mates with both Nellie and Nicolas. Did your wolf have twin mates as well?" Doctor Miller asked.

I nodded my head, "Yes, they were the Alpha's twin sons. They rejected me because I am a weakling, an Omega."

"My dear, you are so much more than that. I am sorry they have told you such horrible lies." he said.

Doctor Miller had just started to sit when the door flew open and a worried Nicolas and Nellie rushed in.

"Oh, thank you, Moon Goddess!" Nellie cried as she rushed over to me. Her hands cupped my face as she pecked my lips, "Please don't do that again. You had us worried sick. I thought that you would never wake up."

From behind me I felt someone wrap their arms around me and pull me closer. When they kissed my forehead and I felt sparks I knew it was Nicolas.

"Nells, calm down." Nicolas said softly before turning to Doctor Miller. "Good afternoon, Doc. How are you?"

Doctor Miller smiled, "Well, thank you. How is your mother doing? I heard she was a bit under the weather."

"Mama's doing much better. She is back on her feet and telling everyone what to do," Nellie giggled as she turned to me, "Mama is very bossy but she has the biggest heart I've ever seen. She is going to love you."

I blush at her words. How does she know if their mom will like me?

"How could she not love you? You're perfect." said Nicolas into my ear.

I looked back at Nellie to get confirmation from her but before I could say anything the door flew open for a second time. I gasped at the beautiful woman standing in front of me.
