After the Rebellion

ALL INFO BELONGS TO SUZANNE COLLINS

I was not looking forward to moving away from Peeta's warmth. I finally had the strength to get out of the bed and walk weakly through the halls to my room. When I enter, I see Octavia waiting to wash me up and dress me. She gives me a smile which I return. I see that there is regular clothes, not the typical District 13 uniform. When Octavia finished putting me together, she pinned the mockingjay pin on me. I told thank you and I walk down the hall to the kitchen.

This mansion is too big and empty. It is the exact opposite of my home, District 12, which is why it reminds me of home. District 12 was small but the people in the Seam were close to their families. In the winter we stressed for warmth which made Prim and I so close.

When I reach the kitchen I see Haymitch devouring a plateful of food. I am surprised that he is not drowning himself in liquor. "Good Mourning Sweetheart!" he says which makes it easy to tell he is still drunk, "Are you happy about the payback to the capital children!" He then starts throwing up.

As I am filling my plate with food, I am thinking about the final Hunger Games. It would feel great to give the remaining capital people a taste of their own capital, but again it is kids killing kids. When I expirienced it, TWICE, it was absolutely frightening and cruel. Well, I guess it is for Prim, Rue, Maggs, Finnick, and Wiress.

My plate is full of bird, wild dog, and other things I don't reconize. I eat everything in at least six minutes. When I am finishing up, I see Peeta walk in handsome, as always. He looked at my plate and grinned, "Well you were hungry." He chuckled a bit and grabbed a plate. "I don't feel my best, I am going to lie down." I tell them.

When I stumble to my room, I don't really pay attention to anything. I reach my bed and I turn on the tv. I watch for a while until I see a special announcement. Instead of the capitals seal, I see a mockingjay. This gives me a smile even though it brings back horrid memories. Then our new PRESIDENT comes on screen, "Hello everyone! I am sorry about all the damage from the rebellion, but I have a very special announcement to make! We are holding the final Hunger Games in honor of President Snow! But instead of using tributes from the Districts, we will be watching the remaining kids from the capital fight to death until one remaining victor! Our officials will be rounding all you kids up tommorow between ages of 11 and 18! 12 girls and 12 boys will be trained by the remaining victors from past games! Oh, and one more thing! Effie!" I see Effie run on the stage and she states, "Happy Hunger Games! And Mag The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor!" the screen goes black.
