Cambria began to breathe heavily as Marshal ran his hand up and down on her arm. He was right, she was drawn to him, she didn't know why she just wanted him close by her no matter what. Probably because he was the only guy to give her some attention, the kind she wanted. Kai only bothered with her when it came to fighting, or making medicine out of juniper berries and hemlock. Marshal gave her a passionate desire, the kind teenage girls were supposed to experience, but it never reached Cambria. It shunned her. Neglected her. Until now. He was incredibly tempting and she fought back the urge to kiss him. Slowly she placed her hands on his chest and pushed him off. She kept her head on his chest and wrapped her arms around him.

"Please Marshal. Please, unlock the doors." Cambria whispered. If anything was going to persuade Marshal, it was passionate contact.

Marshal wrapped his arms around her, "I'll only unlock the front doors, so I can keep an eye on you as you leave."

Cambria began to feel uncomfortable. Marshal wouldn't let go and she was getting ansy knowing her time crunch in order to save Kyle and Kendra. Finally Marshal let go and turned towards the panel labeled 'Security Systems'. Cambria sat down on the cold cement floor and realized she was quite thirsty.

"Marshal... I know this is asking a lot. But you wouldn't happen to have some water would you?"

Marshal stopped what he was doing and turned his icy blue gaze towards her. "Nope. Sorry babe. You'll have to wait until we can get to the Kinlos River."

The Kinlos River. One mile from here. Only fresh water source in the whole sanction.

"Are you sure the virus isn't in the river as well, Marshal?"

"It's not. The Valentis' can't control the natural resources. Perfectly clean water." He was still managing the security system.

Cambria put her head against the wall and slowly closed her eyes, drifting into a deep sleep.

Cambrias eyes began to open. Her vision was blurry and she couldn't see straight. She yawned and felt a hand on her cheek.

"Awake yet?" Marshal asked.

Cambria nodded sleepily. "Is-is it done? Are the doors open?" she pulled Marshals hand off her cheek and stood up.

"It's all taken care of. C'mon lets leave." Marshal opened the door and Cambria followed him closely.

He opened the door leading into the commons and looked around. Flies were swarming the remains of bodies, and the stench was even more foul than before. Marshal slid his hand down into Cambrias and gripped it tightly. He began leading her towards the door when they heard screaming coming from upstairs. Cambria turned and pulled out her pole-blade.

"What was that?" she whispered.

"It's none of our concern, Cambria. Now let's get out of here before it does become our concern." Marshal placed his hand on her shoulder and pulled her in close. Another scream and then a crash of glass. Cambria shook his hand off and walked quickly to the stairs. She turned and saw Marshal waiting by the doors, shaking his head slowly. She began walking up the stairs, steadily, awaiting another scream or some sort of sign of where the noise was coming from. Footsteps echoed the hallway followed by a clash of more glass. Cambria quickened her pace and followed the noise, she walked past a figure in a classroom. Silently, she slithered up against the wall and slowly peered into the classroom. From the looks of it, he was human. He had shaggy brown hair and was dressed in a baggy sweatshirt. He picked up a vase and smashed it on the ground.
