"You're awfully quiet." Marshal stated as he caught up to Cambria who was far ahead of him.
She nodded solemnly but kept walking down the abandoned street. The night was settling in and Cambria wanted to get to her destination as quickly as possible.
"So where are we going, hero?" Marshal asked teasingly.
Cambria stopped with her fists clenched. She turned towards him, furious.
"Don't ever call me that again." she stated through clenched teeth.
"Why? What's wrong with a fitting title?"
"Oh nothing. Nothing's wrong with a title. As long as its a fitting title, that isn't false." Cambria began walking again, quickening her pace trying to get away from Marshal.
"I see. So you don't think your a hero?"
"No. I'm not a hero. I could care less about everyone else. As long as me and-" she shut her mouth immediately.
"Me and? Me and who? Oh, you mean me and Kai don't you?" Marshal began laughing, "I don't get you. He's obviously not interested. When does he ever talk to you?"
"All the time, and that's not who I meant!" Cambria's temper began to rise again.
"Who did you mean then?"
Cambria breathed a long and heavy sigh. "Look. I'm no hero. I don't care about who dies and who lives. As long as I am okay and am not having to deal with those sad excuses for human beings, I'll be fine. I'd prefer the title of Intelligent Survivalist, if you really want to label me."
"And what title suits me?" Marshal asked again keeping pace with Cambria.
"Physcotic Stalker."
"Ouch. I think I have you all figured out, Cambria."
Cambria huffed and kept walking, avoiding his gaze and keeping her head down low.
"No, really where are we going?" Marshal asked again.
Cambria looked around and noticed there were restaurants and small stores all around them.
"We're going to a Japanese gifts store. They have hefty weapons." Cambria began leading Marshal down the street filled with various stores ranging from jewelry to small coffee shops. It was like a typical scene in a movie with a big city, just minus the skyscrapers.
Cambria stopped in front of the Japanese gifts store. Marshal opened the door for her, trying to act like a gentleman. She rolled her eyes and walked in. The store was bare, not a person in sight, not even a Mortuus. There were many shelves laced with figurines and statues.
"Well. Where are the weapons?" Marshal asked examining a statue of an old man fishing.
"There on the wall behind the counter." Cambria turned and faced the counter where the weapons were. But the wall was completely empty. Not a weapon was in sight, not even a flimsy dagger.
"What? The Velantis aren't allowed to take weapons. Where are they?" Cambria began searching around the whole room.
"Hey! Let's try the back room." Marshal pointed to a gray door at the back of the store.
Cambria pulled out her pole-blade and cautiously approached the door. Raising her foot she kicked the door in and ran through. She checked the corners and saw nothing, just a couple of empty boxes, and some broken glass.
"Alright. It's clear." Cambria looked up above the door and noticed movement in the storage shelves to her left.
She gripped her pole-blade as she noticed more movement along the shelves, the wood creaked and dark shadows were slithering between the boxes.
