When I walked through the double doors into the school cafeteria, the air felt different.
Everyone looked more on the edge. Something wasn't right. Then, that's when I saw Cassidy. And Jason sitting at the same table. Jason's friends were staring at Cassidy, and you could literally see the saliva in their mouthes. The girls were giving her disgusted looks.
Cassidy was in a black, long skirt with a Gir tanktop and flats. Her Gloomy Bear bag was on her back. Jason was in his normal holister jeans and shirt with Nike hightops. What the hell happened here?
I walked up to Cassidy and Jason, pulling up a chair to sit next to Cassidy. All the football players glared at me, but I ignored them. "What's up?" I looked back and forth between Jason and Cassidy. They both looked at each other for a long time before they looked back at me. "We're kinda going out..." Jason finally said. I was shocked when I glanced over at Cassidy. Her cheeks were a bright red. "How did this happen?" I asked to Cassidy and she looked at me, as if she was afraid to anwser. "Last night we went out and some stuff happened. That's why I didn't call you..." I smiled widely and hugged Cassidy tightly. "See! What did I tell you?" I gave Cassidy a nuggie and she tried to pull away, but my grip was unbreakable. She started to laugh and scream. "Andrew stop! Your gonna tangle my hair!" Jason sat there with a look that read "Ooookay..."
The warning bell rang, and everyone started to scramble to their lockers to get their stuff for first hour, but Jason, Cassidy, and I took I time. We all honestly didn't care if we were tardy. I looked over to see that Jason and Cassidy's pinkies were linked. I couldn't help but to smile yet again. Cassidy doesn't like PDA but from the looks of it, she seems to be enjoying Jason touching her.
We made our separate ways at the four way turn in the hallway.
First hour was World History. My mood instantly shifted from pure joy to gloomy in a matter of seconds. I have to deal with all the jocks and preps in this class. Lovely.
I made my way to my assigned seat, near the far back right corner. The three cheerleaders that were giving Cassidy dirty looks sat in front of me, gossipng away. I didn't really want to know what they were talking about. I was about to go around them when the blonde headed one grabbed my arm. "Hold on there, Sunshine. We need to talk about your little friend." She said in a cold tone. Her eyes showed anger and hurt.
"What about my friend?"
"You know perfectly well what I am talking about."
" 'Fraid not. Sorry." The girl looked at me closely. She didn't let go of my arm, and I just stood there waiting for her to do something. Anything.
"Your friend stole the guy I liked right under my nose." She glanced at her friends, and they all glared up at me. I'm guessing she's the captain of their little pack.
"Why does it matter? Jason likes Cassidy. He has for a while now, I think."
"You think? I loved Jason for so long and I had him wrapped around my finger!" She screamed in my face. The whole class went silent. She continued on: "I thought Jason loved me, he always listen to what I had to say. Never judged me! And guess what? He acts like he doesn't know me now!" I shrugged. This wasn't my problem, and pulled myself out of her grip. As I did, she grabbed the front of my shirt and pulled me to eye level. "Mark my words, Sunshine. You don't find a way to get them to break up. I will. And it won't be pretty." She let go of me and sat down.
I erased what had just happened and sat down in my desk.
