One, exhausting, anxious, bloodless, prepping month later...
"Good work Liza." I said, praising her.
"Thank you, Your Majesty. I just simply improved the drone's speed." Liza said modestly.
I watched as the robot drone change from walking upright to crawling on fours, sorta like Spiderman, on the big treadmill. Purple wires is connected to the body to record information.
"Perhaps it's simple for you, you're a genius after all. Besides, the speed can make all the difference in survival." I said, walking away. Liza just blushed.
All of a sudden, a guard came running up to me.
"Your Majesty! Shane and his army are heading for [The] Great Wall of China!" He exclaimed. His nametag said Zane.
"Okay, Zane, go tell the guards to shoot any enemy troops coming." I ordered.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" Zane saluted, then ran off.
Of course. To gain advantage, the wall is a good place to start. If they capture it, they can kill any transportation coming in or out of the area the wall is surrounding.
I ran over to a red box on the control panel. I opened it by putting my hand on it. The security program recognized my handprint and opened. I quickly typed in 'CODE RED: GREAT WALL' and pressed enter.
Sirens blared, a robotic voice shouted the information I just typed in. Soon, knights and commanders were running around, yelling or barking orders into their walkie-talkie.
I ran over to the garage. "Get the command vehicle ready!" I called over at Shanna.
"Already on it!" She called back.
"Tianna, Vianna, Amir, Kwan! You guys stay here in the castle. Do not, I repeat, do not venture outside unless you absolutely had to. I can't have you guys come out to the battle." I said.
"No way am I staying here!" Tianna shouted, stomping her foot. "I can't stay here! It'll drive me crazy not knowing what's going on."
"But you have to. I want you to be the big sister while I'm gone and look after the kiddos for me." I tried to reason. "You're a big girl now, you can take care of yourself and your siblings."
"But what about you?!" Tianna cried. "I don't want you to go out there either!"
I felt as if my heart's breaking. I quickly resealed the cracks that had grew across my walls.
"I promise I'll come back and look after you guys again, okay? You can trust me. I never broke a promise before, now did I?" I reassured them.
"Fine. But if you die, I will not be happy." Tianna huffed, crossing her arms. Silent tears flowed down her face.
"Yeah! Sista come back and play with us again!" Kwan said, trying to stay upbeat. But his voice trembled then cracked. He started crying too.
"We can't take it if you die too, Li" Vianna sobbed. Amir nodded, tears forming, then dropping.
I opened my arms and pulled them into a hug. They hugged back, letting their tears fall openly. You can blame them, they hadn't cried since the funeral and had held back the tears ever since.
"You kids are the strongest kids I've ever seen." I whispered, swallowing back a sob. I stood up and walked to the ramp leading up into the command vehicle.
