IT WASN'T HER FAULT SHE FELL AND KNOCKED DAVID OVER.

She was tripped by Carter Jones. Or C.J. as he liked to be called.

But, David didn't know that. And so, now he was giving her the death glare.

She slumped further into her seat at the back, trying to avoid the eyes of the boy.

Her fingers tapped nervously at the desk she was assigned. The intense stare of David was driving her crazy.

'Honestly, what is wrong with that guy?!' she thought to herself. Wearily, she looked over at David.

His eyes narrowed even more at her. She quickly averted her eyes and put her head down.

Finally, the bell rang and she darted out the classroom. Zoey ran down the hallway and out the front doors, completely forgetting her things.

It was fine, though, she could just send some Black Fog to go pick it up.

As she rounded the corner where 'Pine Street' and 'Blue Water Street' met, she -for the second time today- bumped into someone.

"O-oh goodness, I'm s-sorry!" She panicked, picking herself off the dirty cement and bowing her head to the person.

She heard a light chuckle, and a hand on her head.

"Oh, Zoe-Zoe."

She instantly recognized the voice. Zoey looked up to face her Aunt Maria.

"Hi, Aunty!"

"Hey, hun. C'mon, we need to head home."

"OK!"

Zoey was always very cheery and non-stuttery around her aunts.

"So, why were you in such a hurry. And where are your things?" Maria asked, looking over at Zoey as the walked down 'Blue Water Street'.

"Oh, I was trying to escape the Fire Nation."

"The what?"

"David Turner. He was glaring at me because I fell and brought him down with me."

Maria giggled more at the teen. "I see. So, any crushes yet?"

"No."

Zoey had never really had a crush. When she was in Kindergarten, she had a "crush", but honestly, she just saw him as a friend. Ah, the mind of a child.

But, when she actually figured out what a crush was, she realized she had never had one.

"Oh. Well, other than bringing David down to the ground, anything new?"

"Not really. Though, I think I might have met an in-the-dark Magic Worker."

"Really?!"

"Yep!"

This was good news. There weren't very many Magic Workers in the human world.

Maria pushed open the front door. They stepped inside, their noses being assaulted with the smell of homemade apple pie.

"Kathey! We're home!" Maria called out, setting her purse down on the shoe rack.

Series of crashes and bangs were heard coming from the kitchen. Soon, a head popped out of the doorway to the kitchen.

"Hey, there!"

Soon, a full body came into view.

Kathey was a pretty lady, like her sister; Maria.

Both had blonde hair, blue eyes, and curvy figures.

Kathey was a bit thinner than Maria, though.

"How's my favorite little Black Magic child?"

"I'm the only Black Magic Worker."

"I know that..." Kathey made a snort and put her hands on her hips.

Kathey and Maria gave the pouting Zoey a fond smile. Maria grabbed Zoey's hands into her own, saying:

"And you know why it's so great that you're the only one?"

"No..."

"Do you want to know?" Kathey spoke in, knowing where her sister was taking this.

"Sure...?"

The two sister smiled at her and pointed at the wall on their right.

It had black swirls and lines cover the entire thing. In the middle of the wall, there was a black heart with a white padlock on it.

"That's why." The sisters whispered together.

You see, that was the wall Zoey created using her magic. It was also the first time she had ever like her abilities.
