Is Jake the alpha? Am I hearing this correctly? I zoned out after they told us we would be having a dinner tonight. Well the alpha, beta and third in command, their mates were supposed to attend as well. Jake is the alpha?! I mean a lot of other people in the pack knew and they explained their thanks for not telling anyone outside of the pack cause if you did well you know what would happen. Since I'm new I had no clue, no one bothered to tell me otherwise either. If I would have known I wouldn't be in such shock right now.

It's very rare for a vampire to have a werewolf as a Mate. I don't understand I'm confused. My Mate is a werewolf and an Alpha. Getting Alphas as a Mate is also very uncommon. So why? Why me? Why has the moon goddess chosen me?

I stopped fiddling with my fingers and looked up. Everyone was staring at me including Jake and his parents. Jake's mom was a gorgeous werewolf I don't understand how she doesn't glow or something.

"I need Riya there as well" Jake speaks with hope in his voice.

I just looked at him. He wanted Riya to go not his own mate? He's staring at me and so is everyone else is he trying to see if it effects me?! Because it does! Who is this person?

His parents look at him with confusion. They all turn and speak quietly to each other. A surprised and excited look crossed his mothers face. Just as she was about to turn her head to look at someone he told her not to.

I sat there angry because well how heartbreaking would this be for you? Fine if he is going to play this way I can too.

Just don't do anything stupid, Emma... I blocked Rose out of my head for the time being.

"I will come and meet you personally. That is how you know you are coming to tonight's dinner." She gave a million dollar smile then everyone was dismissed.

I was walking down the hallway just coming up from the stairs when I heard voices. Two of them. I peaked around the corner to see a long hallway and two girls speaking.

"You know she won't stop until she gets him!" The blonde one spoke.

"And you know she will just make bigger plans to make him hers!" The redhead whispered/yelled back.

"Aubrey wants Jake even if he has a Mate she won't stop." The blonde one practically spat.

"Shush she's coming." One said.

This is when I heard the most disturbing voice in my life. Just kidding I just herd heels clacking against the ground.

"Let's go. Now!" She had a squeaky voice.

I walked around the corner with my head held up high. Of course, this is Aubrey Jones popular girl of the school. Hell, maybe even town. She just had to be in this pack too. I was mentally rolling my eyes at this point. She was trying to sway her hips with sass or trying to look sexy.... all it did is make her look like a fat cow, that wobbles or one that broke its hip.

As I was walking by Aubrey stopped and turned to look at me.

"I haven't seen her around yet. Hmmmmm. Take a good look here girls, here is an omega she will never be a higher power." She spat and threw a wrapper on the ground. "Now pick it up you stupid girl. Oh and don't forget to do my chores." She smirked and started laughing. She turned and was about to walk away when I grabbed her arm.

"Ew let go mut" she spat squirming around. Mut. That's it.

"No. You listen carefully." I spat " I don't give a fuck who you are you the little slut but I don't ever want to hear you talk to me or anyone else like that again!" I pushed her so she was on the floor. "And for mut, you have no idea what I could do to you! You bitch, now pick up your trash and do your own god damn chores."

With that I walked away into a room they said I could stay in when I first got here.

The door opened and Jake walks in. I wasn't expecting him. I'm still mad at him for choosing Riya. Who even is that girl.

"Hey"

"Hey," I said back still mad about Riya and Aubrey just topped it off.

"What's wrong?" He asked concerned.

"Why don't you go and talk to Riya, why are you here?"

"Wait is that why you are mad?" He started to chuckle and smile at me. A hint of amusement in his eyes.

"Why is that funny?" I asked

"The reason I'm here is to invite you to the dinner." He walked closely tell I was pushed up to the wall. He grabbed my chin softly and put his forehead to mine.

"Sweetheart you're Riya" We were so close I could smell is breath. I could feel the sparks between us and holy hell they were strong.

"Oh," I said breathlessly

"Can I kiss you?" He asked in almost a whisper. This was the best feeling in the world. I didn't even answer I connected my lips to his.

As his lips connected with mine sparks flew all over. It felt like a part of me was found. But I wanted more. I wanted all of it. I needed all of him.

We pulled apart, it was our first kiss as mates. I enjoyed it so much, the sparks the feeling of being free and happy. I never want that to go away. Okay, I'm being a little girl about this but oh well.

The door open and appeared Aubrey. What the hell is she doing in here?!

"Oh sorry was I interrupting something?" She smirked. Oh yea werewolf senses, she sensed what was happening in here.

"Aubrey your not allowed in this hall and you know it" Jake was looking at her, his facial expression showed he was about to yell.

She instantly became submissive and bowed down.

"Yes, sir I will leave right away" looking frightened she ran out of the room.

When he looked back at me I smiled at him and he smiled back.

"It is a fancy occasion, I will leave you be to get ready my dear" he kissed me and walked out of the room.

I'm going to need a minute to register everything that just happened....... honestly what just happened

Well well well........ I renamed this book to Alpha as you can see and made a new cover. I hope you enjoyed this chapter! The next chapter will be on guess what? Dun dun dunnnnn- the dinner! But you guys all ready knew that, didn't you.
