Alex undressed and got into the shower. Pink and red colors ran down her body to the drain. She completely forgot how badly she had gotten beat earlier. She felt pain as the water hit her skin. It hurt but at the same time was oddly satisfying.
All of her scars. So ugly. She thought to herself. This house is so nice.. He's so nice.. I don't understand why.. he doesn't even know me.. maybe it's because he thinks I'm "beautiful ".  Alex laughed to herself. Beautiful. How could someone like him think I'm beautiful? He's so.. nice. Not to mention good looking.. He's strong too.. oh and those eyes! Oh oh and the smile! Alex stopped herself. Don't even think about it Alex.. girls like you don't deserve a happy ending.. sooner or later something bad is gonna happen again.. Alex came to the conclusion that she wouldn't get used to this house, or Rhett. She finished her shower and got dressed. She wore a torn T-shirt that was too small and shorts that were too big. Alex looked at herself in the foggy mirror and frowned. All she could see through the fog, were bruises and cuts. Ugly. She turned away and walked out to the kitchen. Rhett was standing by the stove with a dish cloth on his shoulder. He changed into a black v-neck and grey sweat pants. He turned around from the stove with a smile then frowned when he seen her. Alex stood uncomfortably. Rhett turned off the burners and turned around. "Follow me". Confused, Alex followed. Rhett led Alex to a master bedroom. and to a walk in closet. Once it was open, he grabbed out a pair of sweat pants and black T-shirt. "Here, put em on. Might be a bit more comfortable.. make sure to throw out them clothes though." Alex stood, still confused. "Why?". Before Rhett left the room he turned. "because, them clothes were apart of your old life.. You ain't gotta worry bout that now." He said with a smile as he shut the door. Alex question that phrase from the moment he shut the door to the second she walked into the kitchen again. Rhett was waiting at the table. "Wow, you wear em better than I do". He chuckled, she blushed. "Come'on over and sit down." Rhett got up and pulled her chair out for her. Alex thanked him and sat down. She looked at the plate in front of her. Chicken and Alfredo pasta with bread sticks. "This.. this is amazing.." Alex looked into Rhett's eyes. "Thank you.. thank you so much." Rhett smiled as he picked up his fork. "no problem darlin. Eat up and then we will treat your wounds." Alex nodded and began eating.
