It was an absolutely breathtaking feeling as Vic dived as deep in the ocean as he could. Clad in only swim trunks along with goggles and a snorkel, Vic used his underwater camera to take footage of Beatrix and her new found pod. But that wasn't the only thing that was breathtaking.

Kellin swam above Vic's head, his tail seemed to glow in the sunlight when the light hit his shiny scales and the beams spread across the water. It seemed as if Kellin was moving in slow motion over Vic's head but Vic knew it was just the effect of the water.

Kellin's raven hair floated up in the water biting his pointed elf-like ears on display. He smiled widely at Vic, his sharp teeth gleaming against the sun as well and Vic couldn't help but smile back at the adorable mermaid.

It seemed as if Beatrix was feeling left out because she softly nudged Vic on his side to get the human's attention. Vic tried to pat her on the snout but it was more as a soft touch as the effect of water was preventing true actions. The other dolphins in the new found pod would occasionally inch closer to the human but would still keep their distance though the calves were a bit more daring than the adults. It seemed that they made their own game of tag where Vic was always it; getting close enough to tap the human but darted off when Vic tried to touch them.

If it wasn't for the depressing reality that it will be the last day Vic would have with his best friend before he would have to eventually let her go and live her life. Without Bea, Vic wouldn't have an excuse to see Kellin, so basically he is losing his two friends in one day.

The Mexican resurfaced from the water and slid onto the floating platform and took the snorkel out of his mouth and slid the large goggles to his forehead. Kellin's head popped out the water with a big grin on his face.

"Vic! Kellin wants Vic to come back in water" Kellin begged.

Vic chuckled sadly and just patted the space next to him, Kellin getting the memo to slide onto the platform next to his human.

"Kellin," Vic said "I have to tell you something"

"Vic can tell Kellin" the mermaid cheered.

Vic didn't know how to break it to the mermaid. He didn't think he could handle Kellin's hurt expression and Vic definitely couldn't bring himself to leave without telling the mermaid.

"Kell, I'm not going to be out here as much anymore" Vic explained simply.

Kellin cocked his head to the side like a confused puppy.

"I have to go home for a little while and I won't be visiting for a while" Vic explained.

Kellin seemed to get it this time because all the joyous energy dropped from the atmosphere and was replaced with dread.

Kellin big pleading sea green eyes pierced through the human and the human had to look away so he didn't have to face the guilt that washed over him.

"V-Vic....leaving Kellin?" the mermaid blubbered.

"No, No, Kellin" Vic exclaimed "I'm not leaving, I'm just going to be gone for a while. I will come back, I promise."

The human softly placed his hand on Kellin's cheek to make the mermaid face him. Vic noticed a few tears slipping out of the mermaid's eyes, so with his thumb, he whipped away those tears.

"Hey, don't cry" Vic cooed "I promise I'll try my hardest to visit but it won't be as much as I have been"

"B-But Kellin need Vic" the mermaid sputtered.

"Kellin, I think it's for the best" Vic explained "You belong to your friends and family and I belong with mine"

Kellin shook his head rapidly with his eyes screws shut he didn't want to face the reality of losing his friend and potential mate. His webbed and slimy hands were latched onto Vic's soft dry ones, holding them tightly so his human wouldn't disappear.
