8 Months later...
Vic was nervous.
He waited at the end of the pier, pacing back and forth in anticipation. Vic asked Kellin to meet him at 'their spot' nearly an hour ago and the raven haired boy still hasn't arrived, though Vic couldn't exactly blame him since he was well...with child. Vic didn't take Austin's gift so lightly those months ago, but it's a mistake he was sorta glad he made since he's always wanted children. But that wasn't why he was nervous.
He had a very important question that he wanted to ask...yes the question. The black velvet box was tightly in his pocket and it felt like it was burning a hole through his clothing. Vic's longer hair was now dissolved from his constant gestures of running his fingers through his hair.
"Vic" called the sweetest voice that could ever bless his ears.
He turned seeing the blob of raven hair waddling his way through a short crowd of people, sporting a 'lazy' outfit. It was basically one of Vic's long sleeved shirts and gray yoga pants along with Kellin's favorite pair of black toms and since he's outside; he has a pair of black shaded sunglasses on to block the sun from his eyes. Vic felt a bit underdressed as he was sporting a plaid button-up with khaki jeans, nothing fancy really, just something nice for the occasion.
"Darling, did you just get out of bed?" Vic chuckled teasingly, wrapping his arms around Kellin's bloated waist.
"Yes," Kellin sheepishly admitted, "I'm sorry Vic...Being pregnant is hard work"
"I'm just teasing, Kell" Vic laughed, leaning down to kiss Kellin's nose.
Over the months that Kellin became human, Vic taught Kellin how to speak proper human. The most difficult thing for Kellin to understand was speaking in first-person more than third, slowly he getting the hang of this concept but sometimes forgets in situations when he's angry or excited.
"So, what's up, Viccy? I thought you were called in for work today." Kellin asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Oh...work, yeah about that..." Vic nervously chuckled, "I-uh-lied about that"
"What? Why would you lie about that?" Kellin asked even more confused.
Vic decided to just let it all out now and get it over with. Around his neck was a familiar silver whistle that he brought to his lips and effortlessly blew. Kellin raised an eyebrow, knowing what the whistle was for but not knowing the reason why Vic blew it, though was pleasantly surprised when Beatrix popped her head out of the water in her mouth was a slab of wood in an ancient language only Kellin could read.
Will you marry me?
Vic pulled out the velvet box from his pocket and with a shaky hand opened it, revealing the beautiful golden band that was spiraling with pearls. It was when he knelt down on one knee was when Kellin finally gasped and covered his mouth.
"Kells, I love you. I'll love you more than the deepest depth of the ocean and back and I'll love you more than all the stars counted and multiplied. You, and our child, are my world and I don't think I can be any happier in my entire existence if you become mine." Vic announced proudly yet quite nervously.
Kellin felt as if he was going to explode with happiness -and a baby- because never did he think that he'd actually be marrying someone that he loves, nevermind finding someone who loves him. With tears rushing in his vision and his hands still over his mouth, he furiously nodded his head and squeaked out a "Yes!"
Now Vic felt as if he would explode with happiness, he carefully took the pearl covered band from its slit and slid it onto Kellin's finger. Without another thought, Vic lifted Kellin of his feet, dipping him in the process, and passionately planted his lips on Kellin's.
Vic's life was now complete as he was about to be married to his the love of his life who was currently carrying his child and he couldn't be more grateful to the unknown wonders of the ocean because then he wouldn't possibly found his fish out of water.
