The cry for help sounded like it was from a young child. As I looked around to see who it was from, Blake pointed at the direction where the noise came from. The noise did not consist of only a cry for help, it sounded like some wolves were chasing the person.
A boy ran towards us. He was not the same age as Blake, Cake, and I. We looked like we were about 17 or 18 whereas this child seemed to be about 13 years old.
"Let's go Reise," Blake commanded.
"Shouldn't we go help him?"
"No. He can fight for himself. He can't figure out who we are."
"But-"
"Please help me. I can't fight." I was interrupted by the boy yelling at us.
"Fine. Keep your face hidden," Blake allowed me.
I put on a mask that Cake gave me to hide my face. I ran towards the wolves. One by one I slashed their hearts out until I was drenched in wolf blood. The child had a look of horror mixed with a look that was like he met his childhood hero. Blake had a smug look like he knew this was going to happen.
"Thank you sir..." The child said.
"Good job kiddo. Now let's go," Blake tried to tell me.
"Can I please stay with you guys. I don't know how to fight and I just joined the game. I'm scared."
"Why can't you fight? Everyone should know how to fight in this game," Blake interrogated the him.
"I know a little bit but because I am a priest, my skills don't lie in battle."
"We need a priest on our team," Blake muttered in thought to himself.
"Can I join your team? Please. I want to learn how to fight like him," he said pointing to me.
"I don't know. We should wait until our other member arrives."
"Yes!"
"What's your name?" Blake continued interrogating.
"I'm Alf."
"Alf the elf," Blake laughed slightly to himself, "How many healing spells do you know?"
"I never counted... I know many though," Alf said like he was trying to be accepted.
"Good."
"When is Cake coming?" I asked Blake.
"Not sure. I'll try contacting her though the game's telephone system," Blake replied walking away.
Alf turned to me and said, "Sir, Thank you for saving me. I really like how you fight."
"Thanks. You can call me Reise. Blake taught me a lot of it," I said nodding toward Blake indicating that that was his name. I also took off my mask so that Alf could see what I looked like.
"Do you think Blake could teach me too...Reise?"
"Sure." I was beginning to like this kid. I never remembered how I was like when I was young. I think I was this age forever. I took this moment to have a good look at him while he was in thought. He was a scrawny, pale kid with a mop of messed up dirty blonde hair. He wasn't wearing any armor like Blake and I. He was just wearing a tan-colored tank top with baggy grey pants. The most interesting part of him was what he was carrying. He has a staff which had a circle at the top. Hanging on that circle were little bottles of different colored liquids.
Alf saw me staring at the staff and explained, "This is my weapon, or at least the closest thing to a weapon for me. The bottles are full of potions that I made. I want to try to cure something in the real world, and I hope that the game world could help me. That's why I became a healer, not a fighter."
