Reality is Just a Game

"More of a virtual reality game where humans play while they are asleep. Their mind is asleep in the real world but is playing and alive in the game world. This game is called Fourth Dimension. We are known as the bosses. Some bosses, like you, are well known; therefore many seek you out to test their skills. But bosses like me are found in hidden places where only a few dare to search for. That is why it was easier for me to escape. But I had some help for the outside world...," said Blake.

"Who helped you?" I wondered.

"Because this is a game, there has to be a creator or more than one..."

"So this person is one of the creators?"

"Not exactly. This is the main creator's many daughters. He does not pay attention to anything other than his fame, money, and game. Much less helping us escape."

"Is she also a boss?"

"No. She is a player. She is right outside of this cave because of the game's setting. Once a player steps into this cave, you will be transported to where the player is so that you will fight."

"That makes so much more sense now."

"She has provided me a secret software where we can make you a player ID. You will still be the same but you will have a new identity. Would you like to choose your new name?"

"I have always been known as the Shadow Knight. And I began to think that that was my name."

"This is your chance to start anew. Join me and we will become the greatest of this world. No one would be able to erase us. We will have our own freedom, our own land, and our own life. We will rule this game. We will no longer have to hide ourselves. Come with me and we will rise to the top with honor and pride. Do you want to take the chance even if you die and never come back?" 

I looked at the mirror next to me. I had a nice build, not too muscular, but not too weak at the same time. I had light brown, chestnut hair that is naturally styled in a quiff. I was wearing a silver-colored armor that was not too heavy because I am a agility-type warrior. With my slight tan, I also had green, emerald eyes that sparkled with the excitement of finally seeing the world that I read about in my many books. Recalling my language books, I remembered the word for journey in German.

"Reise, that is what I want to be called," I said the name pronouncing it as rise.

"That is fine. Reise," he repeated to a transparent, digital screen in front of us. The screen stated my new profile. It had my picture and all my stats. My current level was level 90, my weapon is my black Chinese sabre, my defense is at 50%, my agility is at 80%, and my attack is also at 80%.

"Let's go, now. If you want to bring anything with you I advise you to grab that light things," Blake told me.

I walked around my home for as long as I could remember. I grabbed my personal journal, a few of my favorite books along with useful books that may help me in the real world, and my lucky necklace that I always had. It was a metallic cross with a rose wrapped around it. I don't remember when I received the necklace but that it has always been with me no matter what.

We began walking out of the cave, seeing the light growing brighter and brighter when Blake stopped me.

"You ready. From now on you will be a player, not a boss."

"A new life, great."

I took my first step into the real world and I decided that I was never stepping back. The bright sun that I had only seen through the windows was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. The fresh grass, the innocent butterflies, and the rainbow flowers. It was just like a dream. But all dreams come to an end. At the other side of the field, closest to the forest, was a devil incarnate.

Hi guys. I'm really sorry for not updating for such a long time. I had a lot of work or I was just too lazy to write. I'm sorry.

I dedicated this chapter to a very good friend of mine cause she is going through something really tough and life changing today so I want to support her :D.

I hope you like the story and, again, I'm sorry for not updating sooner. I will try to update again before 11/11 but I doubt it cause I'm kind of lazy...... well, bye!
