quitter

4 2 1

Do you think I want this?
For you to pick up your home
And all that you know
And move all alone
To a place
That you don't even own,
My heart and my parts are shattering me
So just go.
You say you leave so I'll come
When going has become a chore
A bore
A new form of torture
I must survive
And I must infinite
The flames
So don't try to hide
From my roving eyes
'cause I am alive
And I am a man
Who will make mistakes
Do the best that he can
And all that it takes
And I'll break
And I'll fall
I'll lose it all,
Just to gain it right back
And taken away once again,
And the stars and my scars
Are telling me to let it all go
But I will say
"No" and
"Go hither",
'cause though mom might have raised
A liar, a cheater, a beggar,
She did not raise a
Quitter.

I'm dealing with some pretty crazy emotions right now, so I wrote this poem/rap as a kind of... Release of that.
