Chapter 26: It's You

-Sara

I just had to get away a little bit. I know Paul is innocent in this situation but still, I think it wouldn't be right for me to be mad at Anya and not Paul.

I'm at the lakehouse, I once told Paul that this place makes me think. And, since he gave me a key, why not come here to hideout. I make myself a glass of wine, and flip through Netflix.

I turned off my phone because obviously news spreads fast. Without realizing it, tears started streaming down my face. I put on a sad movie. I might as well let everything out.

I never cried so much in my entire life. After cleaning my face, I grab some strawberries and re-open my phone.

I call Nina back, and told her I was in a safe place.

[3] Text Message from Paul

Where are you? I hope you're safe.

Can you atleast tell me you're safe?

Sara, please?

I grab the bottle of wine, and went outside.

-Paul

My phone vibrates. I immediately pick it up, hoping Sara would have answered one of my few messages.

Text Message from Ian

N, had her on the phone. She's OK.

Thank God

Seriously, if she's not at the lake house I'm going to lose it. A weight was lift off my shoulders as I see her car in the drive way of the lake house. The lights are on. I unlock the door, "Sara? Are you in here?" I search the whole house but couldn't find her.

I went outside, and that's when I saw her sitting on the edge of the pond. I walk towards her.

"I knew you'd find me," she says still looking in the emptiness of the lake. I sit beside her. "What happened?"

I started telling her the whole story. "That's when she said her line, and kissed me. I swear as soon as her lips touched mine, I pushed her away. But, at the same time you walked in."

I felt horrible talking about that, it- argh.

I watch Sara for a minute, she still haven't reacted. "Did you like her?"

"God, no! I felt it the first day I met her, she had a bad vibe." She nods.

"Look, Sara it's you. I want you, and only you. No one else. When I saw you leave, my heart broke into pieces. You mean everything to me, and I would do nothing to lose you. It's always going to be you."

Tears were slowly rolling down on her rosy cheeks from the wine. "Is she gone?"

"Gone like the wind," I say.

"Good," she says scooting closer to me. I wrap my arms around her and kiss her temple. "I love you," I whisper.

"I love you too, but if you ever pull something like that ever again. I swear, I'm gone."

I nod.

"You know she told me she loved me?" I suddenly say, I was scared of her reaction but she only started laughing. I missed her laugh.

"What an idiot."
