Arabella's POV

I sat in Transfiguration, stealing glances at Sirius, who was whispering away to Remus, Peter and James. I wonder if James is still as mad as Sirius. I don't even know why they're mad anymore.

"Ms. Minayla," Professor McGonagal said, pulling my attention back to the lesson, "Please pay attention. I know it's Monday, but pay attention or detention."

I watch Professor as she goes back to explaining how to turn a needle into a button. I leaned my head on my hand, and glanced over at Sirius to find him looking at me. Damn, he looked nic-no. I shake my head and look back to the lesson, paying attention to whatever Professor was now writing on the board.

Sirius's POV

I watch Arabella glance at me and shake her head, paying attention to Professor McGonagal. I sigh through my nose and turn back to James, who was sitting next to me.

"I'm confused," I say to James.

"I know. I don't understand what Professor's saying eit- Oh I get it,"James starts, looking at Professor McGonagal like she was speaking to Romanian, then switched back to English.

"No. I mean I don't know how I feel about Arabella," I reply.

"Oooh. Why do you have to feel something?" James asks.

"Because I know I do. She's important, I just don't know how yet," I say, my eyes drifting back over to her. She had her head down, scribbling notes down rapidly. She sighed, put her quill down and slumped in her chair.

"Hello! Earth to Sirius!" James said, snapping his fingers in my face. I swipe his hand away, smirking.

"I'm a star. I'm not meant to be on Earth," I reply.

"Not this again," Remus moans and drops his head on the desk. Peter laughs and Remus lifts his head back up, grinning. Peter laughs harder and falls out of his chair. Remus looks at us and he has a red mark on his forehead. I bite my lip to stop myself from laughing.

"What's so funny, boys?" Professor asks.

"I don't know, Professor. What is funny?" Remus says innocently, glaring at James, Peter and I. I snorted.

"Remus has a red mark on his forehead, Professor," Peter said. I laughed and James bit his lip, trying to stop himself from laughing. Remus went bright red and Professor shook her head. I glanced over at Arabella to find her watching us, amusement dancing through her eyes as she bit her lip to stop herself from laughing. Her thick, curly, red hair was out today, running down her back, nearly reaching her bum. She caught my eye and the corner of her mouth pointing upwards before it fell again. She turned back to her work, her normal depressed look back. I sigh heavily and turn to see the boys looking at me.

"What?" I ask.

"You were staring at her. Again," Remus says.

"And?"I ask.

"You obviously don't hate her, so apologize for the train and common room," Peter says.

"I am trying to hold a grudge against her. You guys aren't helping," I say, exasperated.

"That's because your grudge is over nothing. Literally. There's no point to it. Stop being a drama queen Sirius," Remus replies, raising one eyebrow at me pointedly.

'Plus, you can't stop staring at her. YOU'RE IN LOOOOVVVEEE!" James says in a sing song voice. I place my head on the table and let out a sigh of frustration.

"Well, he hasn't denied it," Peter says and my head shoots up.

"I'm not in love with her. It's just that I can't hold a grudge against her and I can't stand that she always looks so sad and empty," I exclaim then clap my hand on my mouth, not meaning to give away that last piece of information. Remus's eyebrows shoot up, James starts elbowing me and Peter snorts.

"Naww, it's okay little Siri," James says.

"WOULD YOU PAY ATTENTION!" Professor McGonagal yelled, exasperated, "OR ALL FOUR OF YOU WILL GET DETENTION!"

We all lower our glaces to the desk and mutter 'Yes Professor' to her, turning to our work. I sneak another quick glance at Arabella and that amused spark in her eye is back. I smile and keep working.

Arabella's POV

I watched amused, a few days later, as Sirius scrambled around, trying to catch up on work he missed, because next week is exam week. He glances over at me and comes and sits next to me.

"Would you help me?" he asks. I start so much I drop my book and fall off of the couch.

"You're...asking me for help?" I ask, making wild gestures between us, surprised and confused.

"It's okay if you don't," he says and starts to get up.

"No! I'll help you," I say quickly, getting up and picking up my book, sitting back on the couch.

"Ok, thanks. What did we learn in Transfiguration?" he asks sheepishly. I snort and pull over his text book and notes.

~~~~~~
A few hours later, I finally got Sirius caught up in all his subjects.
"You're not that bad," he says, gathering up his stuff, getting ready to go to dinner.
"Thanks," I say quietly. Suddenly an owl lands on the windowsill with a letter in it's beak. I pull the letter out of it's beak and notice it's addressed to me. I open it and skim through it quickly and start crying. I throw the letter in the fire and have no idea what to do.
"Are you okay?" Sirius asks, coming over to me, as I start hyperventilating. My whole body starts shaking and I sink to the ground, wrapping my arms around my knees, hiding my face, my heart breaking. I've lost everything I worked years and years for. I feel Sirius wrap his arms around me.
"I don't know what to do," I whisper.
