in ways which were both good and bad.


He was a looker,

much more than what he thought he was.

He found himself quite average,

maybe worse.


He loved to pass time

nitpicking himself.

It brought him comfort.

It was all too familiar to him, 

picking any and all faults he could find within himself.


After all,

he was groomed that way.


But to her,

there were no faults.

Just slight quirks that fit him well.


Sure, he could improve himself

but all she wanted for him was to stop.

To stop inflicting unnecessary pain on himself.


To her, he was sad.

And that,

broke her heart.
