a note next to it.

"I'm sorry to have given it you this way but

you dropped your ring.

I was a couple steps behind you 

and 

followed you to this coffee shop.

I'm sorry for how creepy I sound

but

it's difficult for me to approach people.

I'm so happy you went off to the restroom

otherwise I'm not sure how I would've returned the ring to you.

Beautiful ring, by the way.

Anyways, that is all.

He smiled.

The half print, half cursive writing was cute.

The letters were slanted,

the writing rushed.

Whoever it was,

he was grateful.

This ring meant so much to him.


He folded up the note

and slid it into his pocket.


"Nathaniel, we have your drink!" called the barista.

He walked over to grab his drink but not before bumping into her.

She fell.
