"Oh, I'm sorry!" He said,
looking at the poor girl sprawled on the floor.
She looked familiar but he couldn't see her face.
"No, no, it's alright. It's my fault, I wasn't watching" She said.
She stood and kept her face down,
she was embarrassed.
This was not the way she wanted to meet him.
He waited for her to look up,
she never did.
"Well, have a nice day then, sweetheart. Sorry for bumping into you." He said.
He made his way to the front counter to grab his coffee.
"Wait!" She called out,
"You got your ring, right?"
He stopped and turned to her.
Her.
It was her.
"You? That was you?" He asked her.
"Y-yes, that was me." She stammered.
"Wow, thank you so much," he said, walking towards her,
enveloping her in a hug, "that ring means a lot to me."
She froze.
She wasn't good with affection,
or touch for that matter.
She stood there,
his arms around her.
"Oh! I'm so sorry," he said, releasing her from his hug, "I'm a hugger."
He nervously chuckled.
He was fucking up his chances with her,
she looked terrified.
"N-no, no. You're fine, just not well with affection."
Her face felt hot,
god,
she was so embarrassing.
She was ruining her chances with him.
"Can I buy you a cup of coffee? It's not much but I want to thank you." He timidly asked her.
Her eyes grew, "Really? That's sweet of you."
He gave her a lazy smile and
her heart soared.
How handsome,
how cute.
He told her to wait for him at his table after she gave him her order.
She watched him order her a drink.
She couldn't believe it.
He was talking to her.
They had talked.
They had bumped into each other.
She was going to have coffee
with him.
Her heart flew.
