Griffen barges in my room quickly and shuts the door looking around to check if anybody is in here. When he is satisfied, he turns toward me.
"What are you doing here?" I question him. I can't believe he is here. I didn't think I'd ever see him again.
He walks back over to me urgently.
"A spirit lead me here," I can never get used to his British accent, extremely sexy.
I step away from the door and cross my arms making my way by the bed. A spirit? What does a spirit want with me? To wish me luck?
My voice quivers, "What's going on?" Nervousness fills my body.
Griffen sighs, "All I know is that you can't go tomorrow" My heart sinks. No.
A little taken aback I respond, "And why the hell not?"
Griffen stands closer to me, "I don't know why. All I was told is that Sky must not be in the Elemental Games." He gives me a pained look urging me to believe him, but I can't. I don't trust him. I don't believe him. He's trying to mess with me. I've put everything into this competition and I'm certainly not going to drop out because Griffen said so. He's definitely fooling me.
He continues, "Sky you have to listen."
I meet his green eyes, "I-I can't. I'm sorry. Now leave." A few awkward seconds later he still stands staring at me giving me a sexy, pleading look, "Leave!" I say a little louder.
Griffen speaks sadly making my heart break, " I can't let you go Sky. I have faith in the spirits."
I smile, "Trust me Griffen, everything will be fine." If this comes to a fight well then I'm ready. I just don't want to hurt him since he is a necromancer. What does that even mean? I know he can do spells and go through portals. I have no idea what he is truly capable of.
"I beg of you Sky. Please listen to me" No, I can't. I'm not going to give up. I feel bad, but I'd feel worse if dropped out of the games.
With sorrowful eyes I respond yet again to his pleads, "I'm sorry."
Griffen sighs yet again, "I should have known. You're stubborn." In an instance Griffen places his hand on my head. I feel my energy leave me, and I collapse against him. I feel betrayed and helpless. I trusted him.
Griffen catches me before I hit the ground.
My eyes close and before I fully go unconscious, he says, "I'm dearly sorry" I feel him brush my hair away from my face, and I am gone feeling the same helpless feeling I felt when Victor took me. What if he works for Victor?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My eyes flutter open, and I behold a bright blue sky. I sit up and feel the cold ground beneath me. I am in a forest hopefully not too far away from civilization.
I violently look around until my eyes meet my perpetrator, Griffen. That son of a bitch. I'm going to kill him.
Griffen stares at me in silence waiting for me to react, to yell at him or to punch him. He is leaning against a tree facing me. He looks so depressed. I don't even know if I should kill him or run away as fast as I can.
"Where are we?" I glare at him expressing my anger. Please tell me he didn't teleport too far away from the council.
"We are a couple of mile outside the building," He looks so sad. "I'm dearly sorry Sky. I panicked because I didn't want something terrible to happen. I know I haven't known you long, but I care about you and the safety of the people. I don't know what the spirit had in mind, but I trust her words as should you."
