Salem’s POV:
“So what’s your names?” Jazmyne asked as she dipped her French fry in her strawberry shake and placed it into her mouth; some people might find it disgusting to do this but I always think it’s delicious, with the cold fruit of the smoothie and the salty potato food… yummy.
“Ace Everdeen,” Mr. Grey eyes replied but I just furrowed my eyebrows at this… Ace?
“Why the hell are you named Ace? You didn’t name yourself did you?” I scoffed with sarcasm lacing my words. Ok, don’t get me wrong or anything because I think the name Ace is actually pretty sexy especially given to such a hottie like him… there’s no way I’m letting anyone know that though. At my words Ace raised an eyebrow at me but kept his mouth shut as he studied my face, the four guys were sitting on the other side of the booth while the girls and I were on the one in front of them; Savy came up with the plan for us to get something to eat so we chose Mcdonald’s.
“Chase Mendina,” The cheery looking guy with bright green eyes spoke, a grin on his lips as he looked hungrily down at the 5 burgers in front of him.
“Did your mom name you that after you ran after a cat or something?” The words came out my mouth easily, I know it might sound childish with me commenting on their names but it isn’t like it matters, their on my turf and there’s no way I’m letting loose on my rein of dominance.
“What about your name? Salem sounds like salamander,” Once again the blue eyed man had to say something so I turned my attention onto him.
“I was named after the Salem Witch Trials, so at least my name actually has some history behind it; don’t tell me that the name Ace has history because the only history the name ‘Ace’ has it just a game of poker,” I retorted at him with narrowed eyes and a look that just told him I wanted him to say something else.
“Please don’t encourage her,” Savannah whined as she placed her head on the table, it’s been at a good 30 minutes that I’ve been talking crap and being a sarcastic asshole but I could care less about manners with these outsiders. Jazmyne was still eating her food while watching us like it was some sort of TV show while Blythe read a book about as thick as the dictionary and if I didn’t know better I would’ve thought it was a dictionary covered in an old leather cover but I knew it’s a spell book that she’s been studying for the past month.
“Would any of you mind letting me turn you into a sheep?” Blythe suddenly spoke up, silence filled the table as we all looked at her carefully, even though Blythe is quiet most of the time and extremely smart… well, let’s just say she has a knack for using people as an experiment.
“Not me,” Savy, Jazzy and I all say at the same time and with that I gladly scooted out the end of the booth and smirked, if she planned on just picking one of us then I was ready to counter her spell.
“Why?” Ah, the man with dark red curly hair and beautiful golden eyes asked with a frown on his face but with the way he leaned into the seat told you that he was definitely more of a laid back lazy type of guy.
“I want a sheep?” Blythe didn’t want to elaborate that she was the one in our group that liked to do experiments, of course she was only keeping her reason soft because if he didn’t know the truth he’d make a great project.
“Did we forget about the introductions?” Savy grinned as she took a bite of her sandwich and then sipped her sprite.
“Ah, I’m Damien Vistel,” Red head guy spoke and as I took my seat again I opened my mouth to say something but Jazmyne gave me the puppy eyes, obviously wanting to get to know these people. If it was up to me I would’ve kicked them out a long time ago, I don’t like being babysat by strangers nor having to be protected when I’ve been raised to do that on my own.
