So guess what? Its holloween and I'm supposed to go hand out candy to 5 year olds with Nia. I'm going to be the Mad Hatter, Nia is going to be the White Rabbit, Miranda is going to be Alice, and Rena is going to be the Queen of hearts, suits her. That's mean, but true. Nia is basically forcing me to do this thing. To be honest I dont really want to, but it's a town gathering with the church, so its kind of good. Nia picks me up along with the rest of Wonderland and we go to the senior center. This thing which I now know is called Lite The Nite is in the basketball court being the senior center. I kind of know where this is because of my countless trips to Bells, which is right next to this. We get there and ask the lady running this what we should do. She tells Nia to put up the decorations, Mir to make popcorn and Rena to set up the games. I'm supposed to take the Hugs (drink thingys)
out of a box and into another box. I know, seems easy, not when there's 16 boxes of Hugs. Just when I have all of them into the other boxes the lady second in command comes over and tells me she only wanted half the Hugs in the other box. I put them in the other box again. Then after that I have nothing to do so I talk to some random people. After about 15 minutes a tall almost bald man calls all of us to the center of the basketball court. "Well, hi guys, if you didn't know, I'm Tim, the Pastor of the Pentecostal Church, thank you all for coming out and volunteering, this is going to be one of our vest years, well it's safe to say we won't be giving you hand and feet warmers this year, I would just like to say that as a small town, we've really cone together, I know most of us go into Bell's, put our head down, get our stuff and hurry out, trying to avoid each other, but let's not do that, let's embrace each other, let's make this a good time" he says. He tells us a few more things a few more things and then we pray. I'm not a religious person and I'm not a not religious person, I'm just me and that's all I'll be, but I still bow my head in respect. He tells Nia, Rena, Mir and I to work the games. Tim pairs us up and points it yo where we go. Miranda and Rena have the bottle loop, whatever that is, and Nia and I have corn hole. We all have a large box and a bucket full of candy. I found out that bottle loop is a game where you put a billet on its side and you have a stick with a string and a metal loop at the end and you have to stand the bottle upright with the string. Luckily we're all next to each other do we can talk. People start coming rapidly. After an hour the girls and I complain to each other about our feet hurting, we're all wearing compat boots so it makes since. By the time the nights over, my feet, back and neck ache. If I had a dime for every time I've asked a parent if their child had a peanut allergy I'd be rich. Not to mention it was hotter than hell in July so I was about to heat stroke, but I guess I made little kids happy so it was worth it. After o get home I collapse onto my bed, not bothering to change out of the costume
