We watched Christmas movies. After we finsihed that, we ended up talking. It was weird because I had never felt so comfortable with someone... Especially some that I had only met. We talked about our parents, or regrets, our past- everything.

“I’m just really insecure” I said covering my smile with the sleeve of the sweater.

“You shouldn’t be”

“Have you seen the other girls at our school?!”

“Yeah, but I don’t even concentrate on them.”

“But they’re so beautiful. How can you not concentrate on them?!”

“I guess I was too busy noticing you.” He said calmly.

“Oh my God!” I said slapping his arm, “Stop lying!”

“I’m not!” He exclaimed covering his arm.

I sighed and looked at him. I tried to hide the fact that I was blushing. Our eyes met, his eyes were so beautiful.

“Nicholas! Ariana! Get some food!” Nicks mom exclaimed.

We both quickly looked away and ran up the stairs.

The food selection upstairs was unlimited. Mashed potatoes, chicken, turkey, vegetables, pasta, soup, buns, rice, salad and so much more. If I could, I’d probably eat it all. I piled the food on my plate; Mashed potatoes with gravy, turkey, vegetables, a bun and some salad. I was quite hungry.

We both went back in the basement and started to eat. I quickly stuffed my face with the food. I tried to make it look like I had manners, so I guess you could say I politely stuffed my face. Once we finished we out the plates on the table and continued talking.

“You’re really, really nice Nick.” I said.

“Thanks.” He chuckled.

“For real. You make me so happy. You make me feel so confident. I’ve never met a guy like you before.” I said.

“Ariana. You’re sweet, you’re kind, you think about others before yourself. You’re not scared to pig out, or talk about life. You make me happy. You’re just so… Perfect. I’ve never liked someone like I like you. Not even… Not even Alexa. She meant so much to me, but Ariana, you mean so much more.”

I smiled, and covered it with the sleeve of the sweater. I reached my arms out and gave him a hug. I laid my head on his shoulder, then attempted to take the smile off of my face. It wouldn't budge.

“Ariana,” he said hesitantly, “Will you be my girlfriend?”

“Of course.” I replied still hugging him.

I hugged him even tighter, wrapping my arms around his torso. I could imagine the smile on his face right now, it probably looked like the one on my face. I never felt happier in my life.
