Chapter 10

It turned out, Alexis goes to our school. She's newer, but he's been around for a few years. It's a shame I only just met her.

She isn't in any if my classes, but she shares the same lunch as me and all of my friends, so I invite her to join us to eat.

"So how'd you meet Alexis?" Autumn asked, after a few minutes of sitting down with her at our lunch table.

"She was at the store, and helped dan pick out an awesome shirt. Speaking of dan. Are you sure he can't sit with us? Not once? You won't give him one chance?" Everyone shared unsure glances and I released a sigh. I need to prove to them dan isn't bad.

Daisy always sits quietly when dan is brought up. I know she had a past with dan, but she always looks so uncomfortable when he's brought up.

"Oh, hey Alexis! Hows it hanging?" Leo questioned as he slid into his red lunchroom seat. Alexis gave a quick smile. Acknowledging Leos greeting.

"How do you know Alexis?" I ask, looking back and forth between the two.

"Flamin' Phil, my man, she's in my science class. She was the cool lab partner I told you about who helped my dissect that frog." Leos laughed, informing me on his knowledge of Alexis.

I nod, remembering his telling me earlier on his semester that he did that.

Today was odd, seeing as it was the first time, in a long time that dan wasn't copying me. He wore the eclipse shirt Alexis had picked out the other day. Also, instead of watching me all lunch period, dan was in the library, reading.

I really should be spending my lunch periods in the library, working on the English project, but I enjoy talking with my friends more. I guess this procrastinating will lead to some regretful late nights.

I push thoughts aside as I make it the rest of the way through school. All my friends have agreed to going to get coffee after school, and allowed me to invite dan.

It took a lot of persuasion, but my friends decided to give dan a chance. I'm glad, because I think he definitely deserves it.

Seeing as Daisy and Alex need to stop at their houses to get money, and Autumn needs to go home to ask if she can go out with us to get coffee (because she has gotten grounded from her phone) we all decided it'd be best to meet at the coffee shop and not go together.

Dan meets me buy my locker after school lets out, and we walk together. The air is kind of brisk today, and it makes me with i wore a sweater.

"Phil, you look cold." Dan giggled.

"Just a tad I guess." I respond, under estimating chill I feel.

He pull off his jacket, and hands it to me. I look at him slightly confused.

"Won't you be cold then?" I ask, and he smiles and shakes his head.

"No, it's alright. I don't think it's that cold." He says, pushing the jacket my way. I sighed. Giving in. It's too cold to argue with him.

"Thanks."  I blush.

Dan and i are the first ones to arrive at the coffee shop, the other trickle in soon after. Autumn never showed though, I guess her mom said no.

Everyone talked and laughed, and Alexis seems it be fitting in great with our group. Dan and Daisy didn't share a single word to each other, but Dan seemed friendly with everyone else.

Maybe dan will be able to hang out with us more often.

No one even notice that i was wearing Dans jacket, and we held hands the whole time. And if they did notice, they were smart enough to not say anything.

I guess I kinda like dan a bit.
