Cicero POV

I walk away feeling my eyes water up, I know she is probably balling but I can't wiggle out of this one...finally at my house I pack up some stuff that is important, since I will be having to move a take care of my unholy matron

I stop and stare at the paintings of her and me. I take one and a bracelet that was hers...she has one that was mine,
Looking at the bracelet rethinking what all she has said

'I've never had a best friend'

'You're such a Goofball and I love it!'

'Will you come over for dinner with me and my mom?'

'I will find out what's wrong cic'

'You can't leave you and Dana are my only friends'

The last one breaks the wall I had up and tears roll down my face before I just sob uncomfortable until my door opens to reveal dupre

"Cicero why are you crying?"

"I-i can't b-believe I just g-got a true friend a-and now I'm leaving her"

"Cicero...I know it's hard, but I told you not to get too close with the girl"

"The girls name is Jane" I start to get mad

"Sorry, but maybe you want to talk about it"

"...see this bracelet?"

"Yeah, it's a little girly for you but..."

"Haha, it was Jane's, but we made a dill that we give each others bracelets, if we ever get separated and find each other again we will switch bracelets"

"What if you don't find each other?"

"Then we have a piece of each other" I say slipping the bracelet on and standing up "I have a letter to write, I'll meet you at midnight by the gates"

"Are you sure-"

"I have to say something to her"

She leaves me alone for me to write the letter to Jane, I know that there is a chance Cicero will never see Jane again so that is why I am writing her this letter. I get done writing and place the letter on the porch for Jane, walking to the gate I see dupre and a few others we all nod and leave, I look back to the city seeing it getting smaller and smaller, finally not seeing it I put my head in my hands thinking

Why? Why do I have to leave right after I made a friend? Hasn't poor Cicero dealt with enough already? From having to watch mother die, to not being able to see my own little sister. Everyone was telling their story's on how they ended up in the dark brotherhood too the new guy

"Whats you're story kid?" The new guy asks me

"We will be here a while if I tell it"

"We're in a wagon, and have a two day trip ahead of us so I think you don't have to worry"

"Look all I'm going to say is I watched my mother die, and have a brother who is mad at me for protecting my little sister"

"Oh okay...sorry I didn't know"

"It's okay, no one has heard the story other than dupre and my best friend when she reads the letter"

"That's what you told her in the note?"
Dupre asks

"She deserves to know, I would even have told her that I am a murderer if it wasn't for rules"

"You care about her don't you Cicero?" She asks softly
