And when..

"Her name is Diana", she informed him. They were in the college cafeteria, in their usual place, having their usual.

"Wow, even her name is hot", he said, his eyes sparkling.

"She seemed nice", she said. She could never lie to him. She had talked to Diana that day for him. They had become friends, sort of. She seemed nice and sweet, and ofcourse pretty. She was that barbie doll type of pretty, big made up eyes, flawless face, plump lips and curvy figure. Diana was some thing she could never be.

She was just an ordinary girl, who gave up on make up long ago as she always messed it up and he always laughed at her. She wasn't bulky but she wasn't as curvy as Diana. She had long hair, but not as straight as Diana's. Her eyes might be her only plus, she had hazel coloured eyes.

'You are nothing like Diana', she scolded herself.

"Did you tell her about me?" He asked her, excited.

"I just randomly told her about the party you are throwing tonight, and asked her if she would like to join. And guess what? She said yes", she told him.

His face broke into a grin and he embraced her in a tight hug as he started to dance around her. She felt happy just by looking at him. She was happy that she could make him happy, though she knew it wasn't actually her who did it.

"You are the best! I owe you bestie", he told her.

"You always do", she replied.

The party was cool. Everybody she knew and did not know from college were there. His parties were always famous and looked up to.

"Why isnt she still here?" He asked her.

"She said she would be here by 7, so relax. Its just 6:55", she consoled him.

He smiled at her and before she could rest a hand on his shoulder to comfort him, he jerked up and his face lit up like a thousand watt lamp before running towards the main door. Her hand lay limply in the air for a few seconds as she watched him open the door for a pretty girl. Diana.

Her hand fell to her side as she got up to greet Diana.

"Hey Diana", she waved.

"Hey, i was just.. ", Diana said, motioning towards him.

"Yeah, he is the host, its his party", she said and introduced her to him.

"Come here, ill show you around", he told Diana, a hand slipping around her waist to rest at the small of her back,  which she clearly did not mind.

She noticed the sparkle in Diana's eyes as Diana laughed for something he said. He always did that, he could impress some one just by one word.

"Be a sweetheart and get us something to drink please", he whispered in her ears before turning to go to Diana.

"Okay", she said, to no one in particular.

"Hey babe", some guy from college greeted her and she pretended he did not just talk to her and moved towards the kitchen to get them drinks.

She felt pathetic, getting drinks and arranging stuff for her love and her love's love to meet up and get to know each other? How much worse can she be. She really was dumb and pathetic. If it was some one else, they wouldnt have even let any other girl any where near their guy. But she.. She just wanted him to be happy. And she would give him happiness in any way she could, even if it meant she had to burn herself to keep the flame glowing.

Hours turned into days and Days turned into weeks. Diana was always with them, hanging out during lunch times. Diana had replaced her in their usual seat. Most days she would have to take an extra chair because they would have occupied the whole seat.

That day when she entered the cafeteria, she saw them holding hands and Diana was whispering something in his ears that made him laugh. She stood next to them for a minute for him to notice her. When realisation hit her like a thunderstorm that he still hadnt noticed her standing like that for five minutes, she turned to walk away.

"Where are you going?" He asked her, holding onto her hands from behind as she had turned to move away.

"Just the locker room, i suddenly remembered that i had a test", she said, now facing him. She smiled back at Diana, who was clinging onto his shoulder like her life depended on it, smiling up sweetly at her, her red lips stretching wide.

"But there isnt any test i know of", he frowned.

"Its nothing important, ill see you guys later", she said and pulled her hands from his hold before turning to walk towards the door.

She walked slowly at a normal rate till she closed the door, and bolted to the washroom when she was sure that he wouldnt see her anymore.

She ran to the girl's washroom and locked the cabin she got into. She flushed the toilet and opened the tap to make noises that would swallow the sound of her cry, the voice of her pain.
