When we got back to the town hall the table had been cleared completely.

Marc sighed a bit at it, seeming disappointed. I was hungry, but not starving. "We could go hunting?" I suggested.

Marc looked at me in amazement. "You? Hunt? Omegas can't hunt."

"Why can't we?" I countered.

"They sort of can in winter but--" he stopped, remembering that my coat wasn't the pure white of other omegas. "Oh. Uh I'll go out and see what I can find. Arrow wouldn't like you leaving. At least not until Red gets here and sorts all this out."

"Am I your mate or the Pack prisoner?" I demanded with crossed arms.

Marc smiled sadly. "Depends on who you ask."

He led me to the bunker. To my surprise it wasn't locked and he opened the door for me. The action may have seemed polite if I hadn't known he was locking it behind him. "I'll be waiting," I huffed after I stepped in.

"I'll hurry back." He replied.

The door shut and I listened to him clipping the bolt. I huffed. "Sorry for the wait Zach," I sighed as I stepped downstairs.

He wasn't on the couch however and it took me mere moments to realize he was gone. He's gone to the Camp. My eyes clenched shut. I was so stupid. The bathing had been a distraction. So Zach would be pulled with minimal efforts made by me to stop them. How had I missed it?

I didn't feel angry though. Mostly I felt defeated. As if everything had overpowered my wishes. I picked up the comforter that Zach had most likely left, from the couch. I wrapped it around my body and went to the bed. Our bed perhaps?

Retiring to my fate here was a terrifyingly easy. But arguable more bleak than my time at the Pack House. There I was treated like a whore but I had moderate freedom. Here I was either glued to Marc's hip or locked in a bunker. Maybe it was for my protection, maybe it was for Marc's ease of mind, or maybe it was both. One thing was for certain--I was stuck here now.

I found the book he had mentioned and smiled a bit to myself. It was well worn--he must have read it quite a bit. It was a romance novel. I flipped from the front flap and read over the summary. It chronicled two star crossed lovers--Adam, a handsome spy and Rachel, a shy seamstress tasked with fixing his uniform.

Surprise, surprise, they fell in love, had incredible sex with about two dozen alternatives for the word 'cock', separated briefly due to a small lie and a gross overreaction, before she came in his life to save him from the antagonist.

"Pretty good huh?"

I glanced up at Marc who had slipped in silently. I closed the book, aware I had about a chapter and half left and smiled hopefully. The look on his face made the hole vanish quickly. I didn't ask about the hunt. Instead I slid over and patted the bed beside me. Marc stretched out beside me with a small groan. He'd been gone for a while--he was most likely exhausted.

"The bath was a distraction then?"

Marc's eyes had drifted shut but he didn't open them when he replied. "In a way. I figured it would be easier. Plus, your friend can't blame you this way."

"He will after they torture him," the anxiety returned full force. "He'll hate me."

"I don't think he'll blame you. Besides, his personality will get him attention. He's quiet and innocent--he won't just be common property like the others. Someone will take him."

"Until Red comes and takes him right?" I asked.

At that Mark cracked an eye. "You know Red pretty well right?" I nodded my head. "You know how stubborn he is then. He learned it from Arrow. And his stubbornness doesn't even begin to match Arrow's. If Arrow doesn't want to give back the Omegas, Red won't get them."

I sat up straight in terror. "No! It's not fair!"

"Red knew where he was sending you guys Mason. He made a stupid choice by not vetting out Arrow's position with him first. Besides, he knows how we treat Omegas."

I laid back against the pillow in exasperation. "I hate that you say 'we'." I changed the subject. "You're not like the others. You're innocent."

"Innocent isn't the right word. Not a wanted criminal is a better way to describe it." He sounded somber.

"I don't think you're a bad guy." I decided. "I think you could do a lot of good here. And that you could be a powerful force in the Pack and change it for the better if you wanted to."

"I'm not Arrow," he sighed. "I know the idea of having an affluent mate probably sounds nice but that's not me. Hell I can't even feed you."

"I'm not even hungry." I lied. "And how are you supposed to hunt something that's not here? You guys should start some small farming here. Maybe even raise some livestock."

Marc laughed. "I don't see these kind of people planting and weeding."

"The Omegas can do it. It's not hard. The old man I was with had a little farm and a barn with animals I tended to. I know how it works." I sat up excitedly. "I could show them! And we can go to the Market to get supplies because they can't!"

"Slow down Mason. Arrow will never go for it."

"Any decent Alpha would try whatever he could to keep his Pack safe and strong." I argued crossing my arms.

"He'd never consider anything an Omegas has to say Mason. I'm sorry." He rolled away from me and pulled the covers up.

I tugged them back and he groaned in annoyance. "I'll make you sleep on the couch," he threatened weakly. "I'm tired Mason. I don't know if you recall but all last night I was busy trying to convince Arrow not to return Red's omegas in pieces. So I'd like to sleep for a bit."

"I know, I know. But if he won't hear it from me, maybe he'll hear it from you? You're his son! He'd hear you out."

"I don't know if you've gathered but 'son' holds little meaning with Arrow. I don't think he'll go for it. Besides I've asked for one to many favors lately. It's a good idea Mason, don't get me wrong. Just not an ideal idea for a place like Crimson Canyon."

I wasn't going to be deterred so easily. This would give another meaning to the Omegas existence. They would be more than just toys--they were the only ones with enough knowledge to continue their food source. It made them necessary and created a punishment for any unnecessary death.

I was pretty impressed with my plan. But convincing Marc seemed to be a lot harder than expected. Not to mention the nagging worry for Charlie and Zach.

And now knowing that Red may be powerless upon his arrival made it imperative Marc vouched for this plan successfully.
